About Me

I am a professionally qualified and experienced Nanny with over fourteen years’ experience in childcare, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children of all ages to thrive and develop. I have good practical knowledge of childcare and Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS), which enables children to learn and grow in a safe, supportive and stimulating environment so that children can thrive and develop at a pace suitable for them.

I have previous experience as a Sole Charge Nanny for various families ranging from ages 6 months - 11 years. I provide and support a stable home background whilst both parents are working, examples include; proactively seeking out activities to encourage the girls physical and emotional development, such as, swimming/music lessons and various sports clubs, ensuring exposure to any new experiences in which they will thrive from. I always maintain a healthy diet, exercise and a good ‘bedtime’ routine.

Throughout my time as a nanny, I have achieved, potty training, development of speech, motor and social skills including learning through creative play and making sure the children are happy, loved, confident, well-mannered and respectful. I support the children’s educational needs by engaging with them about their daily learns at school, managing homework and reading routines whilst maintaining a proactive ongoing communication with the parents through ‘Daisy’s Daily Updates’, a contact book and other means of communication.

With prior agreement, I independently manage the children’s school and social lives ensuring they have the opportunity for exposure, further developing their social skills in new environments. I identify any challenges that the children were having and agreed solutions with parents’ full involvement, checking back to ensure that the matter was resolved, or the approach adapted to ensure that it was always up to date and relevant to achieve a positive outcome.
As the children grew with age and received more homework, I established a homework routine which suits them individually and followed the school’s curriculum so I could encourage and give support with the current topics and learning journals. I regularly volunteered at the school to assist with ‘Guided Reading’, school trips and general classroom activities. I helped, support and create a 11+ schedule for the eldest for the Kent Test.

Alongside managing the household commitments including light housekeeping duties for both girls, in the last two years my role developed into providing secretarial support to the parents where I undertook diary management, which involved liaising with senior executives and their support teams at global bluechip organisations. Further duties included preparing and editing documents, drafting correspondence, support for key meetings including scheduling, preparing agendas, carrying out routine administrative duties like photocopying and filing organising travel arrangements and itineraries, and gate-keeping and decision-making on the most effective use of my employer’s time.

I started my career in childcare at Pennies Day Nurseries where i was predominately based in the baby room with my own “key” children, supporting colleagues with their own key children when absent. I often worked in other rooms which recognised my flexibility to work with varying age groups when needed, this gave me great experience across all the age ranges and I demonstrated how I perform with equal continuity and to the best of my ability across all age groups.

I absolutely love working with children and am enthusiastic when engaging with them. I can easily think of activities to keep children entertained and enjoy taking active roles when with them. I really couldn't think of a more enjoyable or rewarding job.

I come with a wealth of experience and can adapt my ideas to your family’s needs. Please contact me for more information.
