My Summary
About Me
Hello!
I have 10 years of child care experience including 2 years at a school for special needs and 8 years with babies and toddlers. I have my own son who will be 2 in April 2020. I also have lots of experience with multiples of children including twins, my largest capacity was sole charge of 7 children aged 2 - 7 and somehow we still managed to get to school on time!
I have not been with a family since the end of 2017 as I also run a beauty business, but would like to get back to a bit of nannying just 2 or 3 days a week (preferably Wednesdays and Fridays but can be flexible) if a family would consider allowing me to bring my son along perhaps for a reduced fee, this would be greatly appreciated.
I love children and always have been very maternal (and a bit of a big kid!) I would be interested in any situation, whether it be a large family of siblings, or one child, special needs or mainstream, boys or girls, any age... You get the idea!
I am a very engergtic, happy and talkative person. I have a large family of sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins which I love spending time with. I enjoy exercise (crossfit and yoga are my current go to) reading, being outside and learning new things!
My Experience
Currently I am a self employed beauty business owner offering semi-permenent make up and lash extensions. Now my son is a bit older I'd lile to get back to a bit of after school nannying.
Before I had my boy in 2018 I had 2 familes. One job was an after school pick up for a 4yr girl old in Farnham 2 days a week, sometimes I would also look after her 2yr old brother as well if he's not in nursery. The other family was in Crowthorne (started Jan 2017) for 3 days a week, where I looked after their four children. They are B6, G4, and BG twins aged 2. They keep me very busy and there was never have a dull moment!
Below I have listed some of my previous roles:
June 2015 - December 2016 - 2 girls aged 1 and 3 at start date. 2/3 days per week.
September 2015 - December 2015 (temp maternity cover. After school pick up for G5 and B8 (boy had asperges and adhd).
January 2015 - May 2015 tried an office job then realised I'm defintiley supposed to be working with children.
January 2013 - December 2014 - One boy 9 months at start date. 2 days per week.
May 2013 - December 2014 - two boys aged 3 and 6 at start date. They had another boy whilst I worked with them too.
March 2011 - January 2013 - after school care for G5 and B2 at start date.
November 2010 - January 2013 - AAC (alternative and augmentive communication) and research assistant at a SEN school. My main role was to ensure each child was communicating in the most effective way for them.
November 2010 - January 2013 - sole carer for my severely disabled cousin. Would get him ready before school and do his dinner, bath, toileting, physio etc after school. Confident in serious situations, have travelled blue lights to hospital many times and find myself calm and methoidcal in these situations. (Although sometime emotional afterwards!) this has made me very confident in my caring ability.
I have also travelled to both Nepal and Ghana to volunteer as a teacher, for children aged 4 months - 14 years. Although this was very different, it was just as educational for me as the children.
I am still in touch with all of my families and see most of them every so often (we try to catch up but life and children keep you busy!)
My Qualifications
Most of the following qualifications I obtained whilst working at Ridgeway school, but some have been obtained off my own initiative.
. Paediatric first aid training level 3

. PECS (picture exchange communication system)
. Behaviour management
. Play leader and playground behaviour

My Availability
I am free for an immediate start for part time after school or wrap around care. My prefered days would be wednesdays and fridays but this can be flexible. I would like to be able to bring my son, Joshua, with me and would be happy to take a reduced rate if someone would be happy with this arrangement.

Sarah has been with us over a year now and has been simply wonderful. Reliable, hard working and enthusiastic my girls are very happy with her. She has a natural ability to communicate with children, often diffusing disagreements between siblings before they escalate (!) and has total control of them whilst still managing to have loads of fun! Sarah comes highly recommended and we shall be sad if she has to leave us.
