WRAP AROUND CARE FOR WEST HEATH PRIMARY SCHOOL AVAILABLE.
Hi, my name is Emma and I’ve worked in childcare for 19 years now. When leaving school I knew working with children was all I wanted to do. So at the age of 17 I joined Edgbaston Kindergarten as a nursery assistant. I made so many lovely bonds with both children and the staff. I was there 8 years and gained lots of experience with working with under 5 year olds. I also gained my NVQ 2 & 3 in early years. I trained with a company called Triangle training who I highly recommend. Training at the nursery was such a lovely experience and has given me so many great memories. When l qualified as a nursery nurse in 2007 I became baby room supervisor which I really enjoyed. In 2011 I decided to change my career by becoming a nanny. I joined a nanny agency called Tinies where I was interviewed and then recommended to families. I was fortunate enough to meet a lovely family who employed me as their nanny for 4 years. Seeing their little boy grow from a baby to school age. We had the most amazing memories together and as you can imagine I was very emotional when he went off to school. We spent our days visiting Parks, farms, zoo’s, soft play areas, butterfly farms, strawberry picking, swimming, theme parks, local library’s, local playgroups, cinema, duck ponds, nature walks and even gruffalo hunting in the woods! We had some fun times together and the list goes on. When he then went off to school I became a nanny for my second amazing family. Joining them when their little boy was 3 years old and then along came their little girl a year after I started. I also had the best time with this family. Outings daily were similar but also included rhythm time, baby ballet, footie bugs and tennis club. We liked to keep very busy. I also traveled abroad with this family on a few occasions which was lovely to feel part of the family. I’m still in contact with both of my nanny families. I even get texts and FaceTime calls from them which is lovely. After becoming a mother myself to Emelia (2) and Archie (4 months) I have now decided to become a childminder.. I’ve registered with a childminding agency called Rutland Early years. I liked the thought of joining an agency as when I was a nanny I remember how helpful my nanny agency was to me. It’s nice to have additional support and they have been so helpful on my journey to become a registered childminder. I’ve done all of my training through them which includes home based childcare, first aid, safeguarding, food Hygiene, EYFS training and I’ve also had a full DBS check. The agency have done background checks, health checks and also a home visit to check all standards are met. I passed in August 2021 and I’m now looking to get started as my maternity leave comes to an end. My daily routine will be as follows .. Before school breakfast club for West Heath primary school. Then a fun filled day with daily outings and activities following the EYFS framework. I’ll be doing similar outings as a childminder as I did when I was a nanny. As stated above to include playgroups, farm visits, parks, soft play visits, train rides, bus rides, butterfly farms, splash pads in the summer, picnics in the park, feeding the ducks, story telling in the woods. We will also have lots of indoors activities following the Eyfs framework. Messy play, tuff trays with different themes for the children to enjoy, dressing up, role play, reading, puppets, building, threading, number activities , colours, sand play, water play, painting, playdough, weekly themed plans so all areas of the eyfs is covered to give your little ones the best possible start in early education. I will also provide each child with their own personal learning journey which I will fill with photos and comments on your child’s development. This isn’t a requirement from Ofsted however I think it’s a lovely keepsake for you when your child leaves me. This is something I have always done as a nanny and as a nursery nurse. I know parents have enjoyed looking back on them. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to message me. I’m also very flexible so if you needed a slightly earlier start or later finish I will do my best to accommodate your request.
