I have a nice size house & garden for the children to play in and will be taking them to local toddler groups, parks, soft play etc as well as providing fun & educational activities at home.

I have lot's of experience in nurseries, school's, special needs carer and as a nanny.

I have a little boy Noah who was born February 2013 and a Second baby boy born feb 2016.

I am very flexible and easy going, friendly and caring.

Hobbies & Interests outside of work;

Reading, I.C.T, shopping, swimming, walking, camping, basic research, going to cinema, going out with friends and family, babysitting, volunteering in local schools, parent and toddler groups, out of school clubs, supporting families with childcare in local area, just to list a few.

Skills & Qualities;

I feel that I am a warm, friendly, caring and understanding professional who is very approachable. I have a passion to see children learn through play, fun and new opportunities to access different life experiences. I want parents to feel empowered in their parenting skills and gain confidence in encouraging their children in life both now and in the future. I have a wide variety of experience working with babies, toddlers, pre-school and the foundation stage unit over the last 3 years.

I enjoy playing a key role in babies and young children’s lives and development, I am a patient, energetic and enthusiastic practitioner with a good imagination who is prepared to get involved in everything asked of me. I enjoy planning and carrying out activities especially those that include creative, messy play and I am always willing to have fun with the children, I am always happy to work hard putting in extra work in my own time where needed, I am good at listening and observing children. I have good communication skills and I am aware of health and safety issues involved in the care and support of children, and I am able to build good working relationships quickly and I work well as part of a team. I am confident in using I.C.T and I have enjoyed using my I.T skills when working with children in Pre-school, reception and year 1. I am also quite good at designing posters, newsletters, leaflets, website pages etc.

I enjoy reading relevant childcare magazines such as nursery world etc and carrying out basic research about new initiatives etc so that I am constantly aware of all the new initiatives, idea's and concepts that are occurring in our practice today.

I have enjoyed working with SEN children in some of my placements and in my babysitting - I can use Makaton sign language and British Sign Language quite fluently although I haven't got any formal qualifications.

I enjoy atteding current training to keep my knowledge and understanding of my job up to date.

My Experience

During my childcare course I did one week in placement and one week in college alternating for the whole two years of the course. I chose this course because it gave me both practical experiences on placement (in nurseries, schools, pre-schools and SEN settings) and taught me the theoretical approaches to deepen my knowledge of child development. In every placement I gained vital experience in a number of settings and always achieved outstanding reports from supervisors. I have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and the National curriculum framework. I am also able to use Makaton and British Sign language quite fluently although I have not yet taken any formal qualifications.

I then worked in a Day nursery for a year, where I gained alot of confidence and experiences and attended many training courses such as, Health and safety, food hygiene, peadiatric first aid, Hanen Language course, working as part of a team, behaviour management etc. In my job my key Duties were I supervise all children in the baby room and I am responsible for their physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs. I educate and facilitate the children’s basic learning, teaching them skills they will need both now and in later life. I encourage children to develop socially by interacting with practitioners and other children, as I work in the baby room with very young children; I am responsible for feeding, washing and changing the children, and generally tending to their physical needs. I am aware of any potential dangers around the children and protect/keep them safe whilst providing the children with risk and challenge. I plan, facilitate and participate in activities to entertain and teach the children in accordance to the EYFS curriculum. I liaise with parents/carers and other staff/multi-agency professionals, I monitor children's progress, keep records and reports, continually observe children and update their profiles (learning Journeys) and communicate any suggested improvements that can be made to help the child’s development. I have an awareness and understanding and constantly implement the Every Child matters outcomes. I provide Equal opportunities for every child in the setting. I am committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. I ensure that clean and hygienic standards are maintained at all times. I maintain and follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times. As well as much more, feel free to contact me and ask me more about what I do on a daily basis.

My enthusiasm and passion for working with children has been supported and strengthened by all my placements and my voluntary work which I have showed great commitment to. These experiences have taught me a lot, especially about the needs and characters of children and the way they learn taking into account they are all individuals and have different learning styles.
Most weekends and some evenings involve me baby sitting for 6 families in the local villages for children, from 3 months – 14 years old. I have worked as a informal nanny in the school holidays for one of these families and loved my work. I volunteer every week in groups run by the local church and have enjoyed doing this for the last 6 years, running games, small group discussions, sorting out disagreements and much more. I have also worked as a volunteer on children’s and youth camps with 50 young people, helping cook, having discussions with them, running fun games afternoons etc. I have also worked in a voluntary free Christmas drop off club where each Saturday parents could drop off their children (aged 3 months – 10 years old) for up to 4 hours while they went off Christmas shopping (I ran the 0-2 years age group planning activities, buying resources, and generally overseeing the sessions.)

I have 6 years Nannying experience for several families they ranged in age from 2months - 11years old. My key duties involved organisig ad taking the childre out for the day to many different age appropiate interesting places, the Parents leave me with a set amount of around £20 per day to take them to the cinema or swimming etc, take 3 children (aged 4,7,10) down to tennis lessons each morning , cook 3 meals a day for children, Bath Children, play with and entertain the children, carry out Reading, Support with Homework booklets, attend mum's and toddlers groups, take children and collect them from scool and pre-school, clean and tidy the house, just to name a few.
