About Me

My name is Hermise I am 25 years old. I have a great passion to work with children, I am currently working as a live in nanny in England, I look after three children under the age of 12. My duties include breakfast, school runs, making dinner, light housekeeping, driving the children to and from activities looking after 2 household cats. I have a good imagination and a great sense of humour. I am looking for a family with any amount of children at any age. I am very good at cooking and I am very flexible. I would like to find a nice, caring, warm and welcoming family.

My Experience

Here is a breakdown of my day with the family I am currently employed by:

Morning:
I wake up at 6:30am every morning and get myself washed and changed before waking the children up at 7am. Once the children are up the oldest girl gets in the bath first because she takes the longest, whilst she is in the bath I prepare breakfast for the two boys. Breakfast varies from day to day so some days it will be as simple as cereal and other days the children prefer to have a cooked breakfast such as egg or oats.
Everyone is washed and changed by 8:00am and they have all eaten breakfast by 8:15am the latest. We all leave the house at 8:20 together and I take the 2 oldest ones to school first because they have to be on school grounds by 8:45, after dropping them I take the youngest one to school.
Once I have dropped the children to school I come home and clean the kitchen first I then put some clothes in the washing machine. I clean the whole house from top to bottom and then I do the ironing.
Afternoon:
Once the house is clean and the chores are done it is normally time to pick up the youngest boy because at the moment he is still on half days until January when he will be going into school full time. Once I have the youngest boy home I tend to give him lunch first and then I take him with me to run any errands that I might have. If I have no errands to run I either take him to the park or we play or read or meet up with other nannies and go swimming or go to their homes or they come to us so he has a play mate.
The youngest likes to have a nap still so if he does have a nap it is normally between 13:00 and 14:30 I can’t let him sleep longer than that because he will not sleep at night.
At 3:30 I pick up the older children from school, the first thing they do when they get home is take their uniforms off which go straight into the wash and then they have a snack. After their snack they have an hour to play out with their friends, watch TV or just relax before doing activities and homework. Between them the children have activities everyday including Saturday and Sunday.
Monday-Basketball
Tuesday- Swimming, Tap dancing
Wednesday- Dodge ball, Football and Swimming
Thursday- Football and ballet
Friday- Football and modern dancing
Saturday-Football match and ballet
Sunday- Football match

Evening:
At 5:30 the children have to settle down and start doing their homework at this time the youngest one is normally in the bath before dinner. I help the children with their homework as much as possible but their parents don’t want me to do their homework they want me to guide them so we talk through their homework together and I make sure they understand it and I try to guide them as much as possible. After homework the 2 older ones also get in the bath and I begin to prepare dinner, dinner is served at 7 for everyone in the house. After dinner the children spend time with their parents if they are home or we play a family board game, the children do not watch a lot of TV because they are always so busy and their parents limit it to one hour a day. At 8pm I put the youngest boy to bed, I read him a story and he is normally asleep by 8:30. The oldest two go to bed at 8:30 and they are allowed to watch a DVD in bed and they are normally asleep by 9:30pm
Once the kids are asleep I make sure the kitchen is tidy, I prepare uniforms for the next day and I make lunches for the older children. I also organise my day so that I know what errands I have to run and which activities I have so that I am prepared.

My days did used to be different when I had the youngest boy at home full time because once I dropped the two older children at school, I would have to do all the above with him at home. I also used to take him to playgroup three times a week just in the mornings and we had a lot of play mates with the other nannies in the area so we used to go swimming, go to the park, go to the zoo, visit museums, go to cafes, go to story reading classes and do lots of activities.

My Qualifications

I do not have any formal qualifications but I do have over three years of experience with babies, toddlers and older children. I got my current job by chance and it has been the best move i've ever made because it's a job that I love and I'm complete and happy when working with children and watching them grow and develop knowing that I have been a part of that process.

I am however willing to obtain any qualifications that may be needed by the family.

My Availability

I am available from the 24th November 2009, the family that I have been with for the past 3 1/2 years no longer need me because the youbgest boy will be going to school full time in January and Mum has decided to work part time from home so she can spend time with the children.

My Fees

I currently earn a very attractive salary due to the fact that I have been with the family over three yaers and I have had sole charge of the children 24hrs a day 5 days a week. My expectations are based on the hours of work and what is expected of me.
