About Me
I am an Early Years Provider and I live in a quiet cul-de-sac, close to parks, a library, lots of child-friendly facilities and the nearby Beach. My home is welcoming and friendly with easy access to a large rear garden area full of fun equipment including a slide down to access a second level of play area.

I love caring for children and I have a great passion for developing them. I have an excellent range of learning toys and provide art and craft activities. I also love to go for walks, to the beach and local parks. I attend toddler groups, the library including their ‘rhyme time’ sessions and other Early Years meetings, as well as going to lots of other places of interest e.g. Compton Acres, Pinecliff Gardens, Stour Valley, Upton Country Park, Farmer Palmers, soft play.

I have two daughters flown the nest and another aged 16. I also have two Grandchildren. I live with my youngest daughter and all my family have been CRB checked.

OFSTED

My aim is to provide a stimulating and friendly environment to your child and at the same time their safety is my top priority. I gained an 'outstanding' rating in my last three OFSTED inspections. In my latest inspection (February 2022) I gained a rating of ‘Outstanding’ for

Ofsted have provided the following summary:

• Children thrive in the care of the extremely warm and caring childminder. The childminder is highly attentive and carefully considers children's specific needs. She ensures that each child feels valued and that their emotional development is supported exceedingly well. The childminder successfully teaches toddlers to share and take turns.
• Older children are caring and helpful to the younger children. Even the youngest children explore the stimulating and engaging environment with high levels of confidence. They maintain their interest in their play and activities extremely well. The childminder is wholly dedicated and committed to supporting all children to reach their full potential. In particular, she prioritises children's language and social skills.
• Older children confidently test out their ideas and solve problems. The childminder asks questions exceptionally well to help children to think for themselves.
• Children who speak English as an additional language make exceptional progress. They demonstrate a secure understanding in their home language in relation to their age and they also communicate in English.
• The childminder has an excellent understanding of what stage of development children are at in their learning
• Parents praise the childminder highly for her work. They report that the childminder 'creates a joyful, caring and educational environment'. Parents appreciate her excellent advice on how they can extend children's learning at home. The childminder establishes highly successful partnerships with other settings that children attend to ensure she obtains detailed information to fully understand children's needs.
• The childminder is a passionate professional who strives to provide the highest level of care and education. She is highly reflective and evaluates her practice constantly. This includes gaining feedback from parents and early years advisors. The childminder uses this feedback to continually raise the quality of her provision even higher.
• The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Children's safety is given a high priority by the childminder

Vision
I am passionate about caring for children and I am proud to be able to give them a ‘home from home’ experience.

Values
This is achieved by providing opportunities to children that will help build their self esteem and confidence; develop their independence and helps them to grow in all areas of Learning and Development. It is also important for me to build a special relationship with the children and their families/carers who always feel welcome in my home and they can share proud moments or discuss any concerns in a confidential and professional way. Families, who have used my service, know their children are in a stimulating and safe environment, learning through many fun activities either within my setting or through many of the outings we have.

Aims and objectives

Parents are kept informed and feel involved in their child’s development. Communication is encouraged through daily diaries, individual plans, what’s app, Evidence Me websuite and one to one discussions. I regularly seek feedback so I can continually improve my practice.

My Experience
Apart from 37 years of bringing up my first 2 children, I have been childminding since October 2007 caring for up to 7 children between 3 months and 12 years of age.
My Qualifications
I am an Accredited Childminder so I can provide early years education and I can access government vouchers for 2,3 and 4 year olds. I have also completed a nationally recognised NVQ level 3 qualification in childcare.
I have participated in a Quality Assurance Childminding networking schemes meaning I am regularly assessed. I continue commit to regular training sessions to keep up to date and enhance my skills
In addition to the above, I am always looking for ways to improve and I regularly evaluate my practice with the help of parents and children. I participate in regular training courses such as Safeguarding, Food safety & Hygiene, First Aid, Managing Behaviour, special educational needs etc.
My Availability
I work Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8am to 5.30 pm on a regular basis and I will consider some Mondays and Fridays, after hours and weekends on occasions by request.
My youngest daughter and I babysit various evenings with notice and I have provided overnight care on occasions.
I am also registered to the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council.
