About Me

My name is Katie Boyer and I am 18 years old. I have recently finished studying at Goole College and i am now successfully qualified in Diploma in Childcare and Education Level 3. I I am now looking for a career in childcare so that I can further my education to have and enjoy a career working with children.

My Experience

Whilst at college i have done many placements in different settings including local nursery’s and schools. I thoroughly enjoyed the experiences I gained from it and also enjoyed working with a different variety of age groups. During my time there I supported staff in looking after the children, meeting the children’s individual needs and carrying out the daily duties such as meal times, cleaning, filling in record sheets and setting up activities for the children to engage with. All of these things were done with initiative and confidence and the staff recognised how well I communicated not only with themselves, but with the children and parents too.

In previous years I have also done quite a lot of babysitting for family and family friends during school/college holidays and at weekends. This involved taking them out to places such as the park, the cinema and the leisure centre for which I had to ensure that the children were safe at all times whilst in my care and that the parents trusted me to be responsible for their children.
