About Me
I'm a parent of two grown up children aged 24 and 19. I am a fit and active 50 year old - interests include walking, swimming and tennis. I have worked with children all my life - I live in Corfe Mullen but have a car and don't mind travelling. I enjoy working with children of all ages - even teenagers! Children seem to relate to me very naturally - I have a calm and gentle manner whilst being firm and fair. I'm very organised and thrive on being busy. I am currently registered as a foster carer for Bournemouth social services.
My Experience
I have worked with children in a variety of settings including childrens homes and within family homes. I am a qualified nurse - including children's nursing though not worked as a nurse for many years now. I also worked on respite care projects with Poole social services and Action for Children. I have been a foster carer for the past 9 years whilst raising my son and daughter who have now left home. As a foster carer I have cared for children from newborn to 16 years.
My Qualifications
I have SEN nursing qualification and also have CQSW social work qualification. I'm registered with the General Social Care Council (for people in social care) I have also done a variety of ongoing training in my role as a foster carer - including first aid and safe care.
My Availability
I am available for day time, evening and weekend babysitting
