Hi, my name is Suzanne, thank you for reading my profile!!

I am a fully qulified Childcare Professional, with nearly 5 years of experience. I am registered with Ofsted. I have undergone two Ofsted inspections in the past 5 years, gaining a GOOD grade in the first and then an OUTSTANDING grade in my most recent inspection in September 2009.

I have lived in Dronfield most of my life. I am married with a son of 12. I live in Dronfield Woodhouse on a quiet street in a 3 bedroom semi detatched house with enclosed rear garden. I am only about 3 minutes walk from my local park, playing fields and woods and we do spend a lot of time there having fun. We also take trips into Derbyshire and visit Chatsworth frequently. If we are not out we have fun baking, crafting, singing, dancing or just quite simply playing. We attend local playgroups and basically do the fun things you do at home.

I am a member of the National Childminding Association and of course have full public liability insurance.

My Experience

Firstly I am a Mum!!! I offer home from home childcare. I am aware though that being a parent is not just a stepping stone to being a good childminder. I am constantly conscious that looking after other people's children is very different, because I am solely responsible for your most treasured possession!! The past few years have given me a huge amount of experience, so that now providing a high quality, indeed outstanding environment is second nature to me.

I have a vast array of policies and procedures and other evidence within my portfolio that you are welcome to have a look at.

However, again as a Mum, I know that recommendations from other parents are of more importance. To that end you can read my written recommendations or have the telephone numbers of parents of children, currently in my care, or of children I have cared for in the past.

You are also most welcome to have a look at my Ofsted inspection report.

I also help to run the Dronfield Childminding Support Group. Childminders who are members of this group meet to discuss various aspects of childcare and current legislation, whilst providing a secure environment for the children to play. By having the support of other professionals I can also usually offer holiday cover so your child has continuity of care.

My Qualifications

I have undertaken in excess of 25 training courses provided by Derbyshire County Council Early Years. These are courses at Levels 1 and 2. However the Government would like all Ofsted registered childminders to have attained a Level 3 qualification by 2010. To that end I think the most important qualifications I have are the following:

NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and Development.
Level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice from the Open University.
Paediatric First Aid (St Johns Ambulance).
Advanced Safeguarding Children (NSPCC).
Food Hygiene
British Sign Language, Level 1

My Availability

I am available Monday - Friday. Hourse are flexible.

I have 1 vacancy available for a child under 5 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then various before and after school vacancies. Please call me to discuss yourrequirements.

I take children to and from Gorseybrigg Primary School and Nursery.

My Fees

Daily Rate £4.00 per hour.
After School Rate £4.60 per hour.

These rates are in line with current charges in Dronfield, Dronfield Woodhouse and Coal Aston.
