My name is Lynda Robertson, I am 48 years old and I have been a SCSWIS registered childminder since 2007. My service is called Happy Home Childcare and was last inspected in May 2016 and received the following grades.
Quality of Care and Support - Grade 6 (Excellent)
Quality of Environment - Grade 5 (very good)
Quality of Management and Leadership - Grade 5 (very good)
My Service is registered as a Small Foods Business and is regularly inspected by the Foods Standards Agency via North Lanarkshire Council.
My service is provided from my family home in Carnbroe, where I live with my husband and two kids. . Our house is located within a safe culdesac and we have a fully enclosed back garden which is well kept and safe resources are provided for the kids to play on to encourage outdoor play.
I provide a variety of toys and equipment suited to all ages and stages of development.
The children are encouraged to participate in a variety of activies like: arts and crafts, painting, baking, indoor and outdoor play, games, puzzles, story,song and dance time, watching movies, free play etc (all age/stage appropriate to each individual child)
We make use of local ammenities like the library, playgroups, softplays, parks and toddler groups.
I offer full day/ half day care and before and after school care and my service is available through out the year .
I collect and drop off at local Schools and Nurseries.
I have been childminding since July 2007 and enjoy working with the children and families using my service.
I offer a safe, hygenic, fun and friendly environment for all children in my care and all service users are made to feel very welcome in my home.
As part of my registration my husband and I have been vetted through Disclosure Scotland and I also have a PVG disclosure.
I have recently completed the SVQ3 level 7 Social Services for Children and Young People qualification. I regularly attend relevant Child Minding courses provided by the Scottish Child Minding Association, Edu-care and Childminding.co.uk
I hold a first aid certificate and update first aid training as and when required.
My Experience
I have been registered since July 2007 and really enjoy my job. The families (parents/carers and children) that use my service are very happy and regularly complete service feedback questionnaires and suggestion/comment forms that help me to improve the service i provide.
I attend local Toddler groups providing opportunity for the pre-school children to mix with others their own age encouraging social skills and confidence, helping to prepare for the transition to nursery.
I always make an effort to attend nursery/school shows, sports days etc to support the children I am looking after to show praise and encourage self esteem.
I attend Childcare training courses provided by the Scottish Childminding Association and North Lanarkshire Council to update and improve my knowledge and skills in childcare.
I meet regularly with other local registered childminders which provides a good network of support and attend regular network meetings and workshops provided again by SCMA and North Lanarkshire Council keeping me updated with relevant legislation.
Over the past 15 years I have provided a quality care service to many families, caring for children ranging from 3 months to 12 years old. I am well established within my area and a lot of my business is through word of mouth and recommendation from others which I take great pride in. Some of the children I care for have been with me since they were babies and I have seen them through the transitions of nursery and onto primary school and leaving for High School !

I hold certificates in: SVQ3 level 7 Social Services for Children and Young People, First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Asthma Awarness,
Infection Prevention and Control, Pre birth - 3, The Early Years, Children's Nutrition, Building Confident Children, Respect me Anti bullying, Inclusion, Equality of Opportunity, Pre-Birth to 3 Literacy, Covid19 awareness training.
My Availability
My service is available from 8am - 5pm (a 7.45am start may be considered as can a 5.30pm finish but due to enhanced Covid19 cleaning requirements 8am-5pm are my core hours), Mon - Fri and is open through out the year, however, term time only contracts are available too.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are very Competitive please contact me to discuss, I also accept childcare vouchers (by electronic transfer) fees are paid monthly, one month in advance.

I would strongly recommend Happy Home Childcare to anyone as I was so happy with the service she provided for my 2 year old daughter. I was very nervous about leaving my daughter with someone I didn't know but Lynda was great about it and made me feel at ease with leaving her there. My daughter loved going there and she always got excited when I told her she was going to Lynda's. If I needed childcare again I would definitely go back to Happy Home Childcare.

Lynda contacted me as I was looking for a childminder in the Carnbroe area who could offer breakfast club for my daughter. Her e-mail was really friendly and informative and provided all the information that a mum needs when looking for a childminder.
Had I not already found another provider, I was certainly encouraged by Lynda's very helpful and informal manner, to have used her services.
