I am a kind and caring individual who has lots of experience in caring for children. I have baby sat and helped take care of younger siblings from a young age. I have a great initiative and I am very trustworthy. I understand how children need a calm and safe space to develop and I love supporting and encouraging children to learn through play and helping them reach milestones and targets.
My Experience
I have worked in nursery’s since the age of 14, I first started in a nursery after school to help with the tea time rush. I then trained for my NVQ 2 and my level 3 diploma in childcare during this time I cared for children aged 3 months-11 years with the majority of my time being spend in the 3months-2 year rooms.
The second nursery I worked in I started as assistant and worked my way up to toddler room (2-3 years old) leader in less than 6 months. I also was voted carer of the year by the parents of this nursery which is an achievement I am proud off. Comments included how the parents felt I was calm, patient and really cared about their children and that they felt safe leaving their children with me in the mornings.
During my nursery work I regularly babysat for some of the children I cared for in the evenings or weekends.
My most recent job with a childcare element is working on a busy maternity unit, so I have a good experience with newborns.
