About Me

Hello, I’m Kirsty — a warm, experienced and passionate childminder offering a nurturing, home-from-home setting where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn.

I have worked in childcare for over 14 years and have been a registered childminder for 4 years, most recently achieving an Ofsted Outstanding grading in 2025. I have experience across nurseries, nannying and early years leadership, and now focus on providing high-quality, individual care in my own setting.

My aim is to give every child a calm, happy place where they can grow in confidence, curiosity and independence at their own pace.

Children in my care enjoy a play-based, child-led curriculum rooted in the EYFS. I believe young children learn best through hands-on experiences, real-life play and strong emotional connections.

Parents often tell me how lovely the setting looks when they arrive in the morning and how much their children talk about the things they’ve done here — from baking and painting to gardening and feeding the chickens. That shared excitement tells me the children feel happy, secure and engaged.

We use lots of sensory play, messy play, creative activities, stories and music, alongside everyday routines that help build independence and confidence.

My setting offers a calm, welcoming environment with a large garden that children can access daily, whatever the weather. Outdoor play is a big part of our day — digging, planting, collecting eggs, splashing in puddles and exploring nature.

We also go on regular outings including:

Parks and woodland walks
Toddler groups and music sessions
Library visits
Trips to the bakery, post office and local shops

These experiences help children build social skills, language, and a sense of the wider world.

We have two friendly cats, five chickens and a small gentle dog. The children love helping to feed the chickens and collect eggs — it’s a wonderful way to build responsibility, care for others and learn about nature.

My Experience

My experience includes:

-Working in nursery settings with children aged newborn to 5 years
-Full-time nanny roles caring for children aged 8 months to 4 years
-Working in a Montessori nursery for nearly three years
-Managing a nursery setting before setting up my own childminding business
-Running my own Ofsted Outstanding (2025) childminding setting since February 2023

I have extensive knowledge of the EYFS and provide a high-quality, child-centred approach that supports children’s learning, development and emotional wellbeing.

Kirsty has looked after my two boys aged 7 and 10 on and off for the last 3 years. She has a great rapport with them and they always look forward to seeing her.
