About Me
Hello,
My name is Karen and I'm a mature, responsible mother, hardworking, professional, very determined and motivated by personal achievement and the achievement of individuals whom I have influence.
I believe to be a childminder you need to be a child at heart, be energentic, fun, creative, and be driven by the love of being around children, I feel I have these qualities.
I live in Trawden, a quiet semi-rural village located just 5 minutes from Colne in Lancashire. It is a perfect place for families with young children to enjoy, surrounded by green fields and wildlife. My home is located just minutes from Trawden Parish School, Riverside Sure Start Centre, Trawden Library and Community Centre where we have access to local groups and activities.
I'm an Ofsted Registered Childminder (including Early Years Group), I'm a member of NCMA(National Childminding Association), I'm a member of Airedale Hospital Trust, I'm currently completing NVQ Children's Care, Learning & Development (level 3), and I'm part of the local Childminding network.
I live with my partner and our two year old son and we value spending quality family time together as much as possible including family activities at local Sure Start centres.
What I can offer?
I can offer a clean,fun, child friendly, safe environment, where children can grow and develop through play, providing resources for both indoor and outdoor space to enjoy.
I provide home-cooked healthy meals and snacks.
I provide all essential equipment including travel seats, prams, cots and highchairs.
I provide child lead activities including books & story sacks, music & nursery rhymes,construction toys, pretend play, messey play, arts & crafts, cooking & baking, gardening, dressing up, and outdoor play equipment.
I can offer flexible hours to meet the needs of parents all year round.
My Experience
Firstly, I'm a mother of a two year old boy supporting his bilingual learning and development in both English & Spanish as my partner is originally from Spain.
I have had now 6 months expererience as a registered childminder and in this time I have cared for 2 children both in the early years age group (0-5yrs) In this time I have gained experience in observing, planning, and assesssing individual child's needs and have worked closely in partnership with parents to promote their child's learning and development taking them to the next step.
I am a member of the Sunny day's Childminder network where I have worked closely with other childminders and gained more knowledge by attending training sessions. I am currently completing NVQ level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development.
