About Me
Hi our names are Sarah and Ed. We are both OFSTED registered childminders in Haverhill and work together. This means that the children have other children to play with all the time and benefit from two pairs of eyes! We are able to provide a variety of different activities and opportunities by working in partnership . Sarah is mum to a beautiful 11 year old girl and a fantastic 8 year old boy and Ed has a lovely 10 year old daughter, who visits us every other weekend and for a few weeks in the school holidays. All three children treat the minded children as members of the family and they build strong bonds with each other. We live on the Arrendene development in Haverhill, close to New Cangle School. We live close to the main bus route to Cambridge and are within walking distance of the town centre, parks, toddler groups, pre-schools and primary schools. We have two 4 year old cats and a 6 month old Staffie puppy called Jasper -we believe children benefit from being around pets and the puppy especially adores the children. We are non- smokers and have full, clean driving licences. We both love looking after children and watching them grow and change each day. We have a large number of references, qualifications, certificates and OFSTED reports which are available. Sarah has been a childminder for 7 years and is CRB checked as is Ed who has the NNEB certificate and registered as a childminder in 2011. My Experience
Sarah has been a childminder since 2005 when her son turned a year old. She started childminding after being asked by a friend to help with childcare which involved registering with Ofsted as it was for six hours one day a week. It kind of grew from there. We both enjoy being with children so much we have chosen to carry it on as a career. Sarah had her last OFSTED inspection in January 2009 for which she received an overall Good grade with outstanding marks in 5 areas. Ed registered in 2011 but had been a childminding assistant for the previous year. He had his first OFSTED inspection in January 2012 - received a 'good' grading and only had one recommendation , which was to encourage the 3 and 4 year olds to help with the tidying up! We use the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) daily with the children we care for under the age of 5. We have a folder for parents to look at which includes a number of policies that we adhere to in our work. We also keep photograph albums and references to show prospective parents. We have experience of children who have English as a second language, children with allergies, speech delay and children that find being away from parents distressing. The children all love coming to us and we love having them!
My Qualifications
Sarah has 3 A levels in Sociology, Geography and Business Studies. She has an NVQ Level 3 in Childrens, Care, Learning and Development. We also hold First Aid and Safeguarding children certificates and have completed a number of courses during our careers for which we have certificates. Ed has the NNEB certificate as well.
My Availability
Monday to Friday - 6.00am until 8.00pm all year round. Weekend care is also available - please email me for more information. Able to drop off and collect children from Sandcastles playgroup, Stepping Stones pre-school, Little Wonders and Little Raindrops pre-school and Methodist church playgroup as well as New Cangle School and Westfield schools . Places we have available for pre-school children are everyday, but currently have no after school places.
My Fees
�3.00 per hour with �2.50 per hour for further siblings. We don't charge a deposit to secure a place and we don't charge a retaining fee. We have children that come for holidays only and term-time only and those parents pay just for those times. We charge at the end of the month by invoice, not in advance as some childcarers do. We accept payment by cheque, cash or bank transfer. We accept all childcare vouchers and are incredibly flexible. We ask for a packed lunch to be provided.

Excellent childminder
my daughter has been going to Sarah's for well over a year now and absolutely loves her. Ive never left any of my children with someone who wasnt family, but i couldnt be happier and she comes home happy and smiling.
I can not recommend Sarah enough, she is an excellent A++++++ childminder :o)

Brilliant!!
My boys (age 14 months and 3 years) have bern going to Sarah & Ed's for 4 months now and they love it!! My eldest wakes up every morning and asks to go and see Sarah & Ed! They are brilliant with the kids and are so friendly and easy to talk to. Overall a fantastic day care. Hightly reccomended!! :-))

Fantastic Childminders!
My little boy is almost 2 and has been going to Sarah and Ed for about a year now and he absolutely loves it! He gets excited as we pull up and always comes home clean and happy. He has learnt so much from going there just two days a week and I always feel 100% at ease leaving him with them. They are also flexible and nothing is ever too much trouble!
