Hello my name is Andrea I live with my husband and our daughter April age 26 we have 3dogs and 2 cats.
I am calm, patient, and caring. I take my work seriously and am passionate about my job.
The time I spend with the children is their time I am totally dedicated to their needs. I ensure the children are safe at all times.
I follow their individual needs. I am a good role model. I promote independent learning and know when to step back to allow a child to learn for themselves through their play.
I follow the EYFS.
I am an ofsted registered childminder.
The children I care for are free to explore and choose what they wish thus promotes self confidence and independent learning.
I build strong connections with the children by listening and talking to them and making them feel safe and secure. I encourage independance and enjoy their company very much.
I want what is best for the children in my care.
I offer a range of learning opportunities inside and outside.
I liaise with Pre-schools, Nurseries. Schools and health professionals where necessary.
I have worked at a residential school for autism and a respite home for a mix of disabilities- therefore I am very experienced in this field.
My Experience
I have 26 years experience in childcare, 10 childminding, 3 as Supervisor of Pre-school, 3 as Deputy of Pre-school, 3 training in Pre-schools. 4 years as an autism specialist. 3 years as a senior with mixed disabilities for West Berkshire Council.
Four years in Swindon as a childminder.
I worked closely with West Berkshire council supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds and therefore come to me with a wide range of challenges.
In my care these children have gained confidence, speech and began to understand waiting and turntaking, they learn to be gentle kind and self regulate their emotions.
As a Supervisor in Pre schools the children were safe,educated. I kept records on each child of their progress noticed their strenghts and weaknesses. Had good relationships with parents and staff.
In the residential care home. I've been opened to a whole new world with autism and special needs I am very passionate about this area.
My Qualifications
I have a level 2 Early Years (Newbury College) 2002
Level 3 Diploma In Early Years (Newbury College) 2003
I am also level 4 in Health and Social Care. (Open University) 2010
Level 5 in Childhood and Youth birth to 18 years (0pen University) 2011

Andrea was childminder to my two boys for several years. She started looking after my youngest when he was about 18 months old, my older son 3. Even once they both went to primary school, she still occasionally cared for them during school holidays. They absolutely loved her. My youngest son - now 10 - still talks about her and how nice she was, despite having not seen her for many years now. To make that big an impact on a child is remarkable. Andrea always had plenty for them to play with, but she also put a huge amount of effort into getting them pre-school ready, helping with writing, drawing, number and letter recognition, patterns and much more. She used to take plenty of pictures and write up notes (which I still have) documenting what they did every day. She'd take them on brilliant trips to parks and petting zoos. I knew that when they were with her, they were being educated, entertained, having fun and most importantly, loved and taken care of. She was an absolute godsend to me as I had no family to help with childcare. I can highly recommend Andrea if you need someone to look after you little one when you cant. She is brilliant.
Overall
Andrea has looked after my daughter for many years in different capacities and has always been a positive part of my daughters life. My daughter has ASD and had some complicated needs which Andrea has always handled with care and positive solutions to problems Erin has . I cannot recommend Andrea enough .

a wonderful childcare option. Andrea offers something more like a boutique nursery in a home environment than traditional childcare in the home. i could not have dreamt of anything better for my child. a caring, supportive environment incorporating a well thought out gentle learning programme through play individualised for the child. very impressive. experienced, kind, great with all types of children from what i could see, from very shy to very active. a dream come true for me and my child. amazed she has any availability at all - apparently several of the little ones have just started school....
