About Me
**Spaces available from Middle July 2024 as four children are moving up to reception at school ! **
Hello, My name is Karen and I am passionate about working with children . Aiming at giving them the best start in life , learning while having fun at my setting in a safe and clean environment.
I have a vast range of resources that are available for your child to choose and play with .
Encouraging good behaviour and respecting each other is very important to me . As is encouraging your child to try new things and take risks to build on their resilience as they grow .
Encouraging lots of outdoor play , including planting and looking after plants and Vegetables.
Your child progress is recorded in a learning Journal with lots of pictures so you can see how your child is progressing . This is for you to take home when they leave me for school .
My day consists of dropping and picking up school aged children from the local school. This includes children that have been with me since babies .
I live with my husband and my son, aged 18 who is now at university . I take and collect from The Grove primary school , HazeI Grove in Trowbridge which is a few minutes walk from my home . I registered to be a childminder 14 years ago

I work 47 weeks of the year . 5 weeks normally taken off during the school holidays .
My Experience
My experience is bringing up my own 3 children and previous to that 2 step children who are now in their thirties
I have been a registered childminder for 14 years now
I was previously a manager of two departments in a huge department store, carer in the community, a baby careline advisor at Nutricia and a Mid day supervisory assistant at the local primary School that I drop and pick up from .
My Qualifications
I have completed my diploma in home based child care 2010
A certificate in paediatric first aid 2024
I have completed a course on Understanding Autism March 2021
I have completed a level 2 course on mental health first aid ( this I feel is important during the pandemic ) April 2021 and renewing this June 2024 .
I have completed a level 3 diploma in children and young people’s workforce 2014.
I have completed my Safeguarding of children and young people level 2 February 2024
I have attended various other childminding courses over the last 12 years.

SALT ( speech and language therapy )
I also take part in a weekly webinar by childcare. Co. Uk that keeps me up to date will all aspects relating to childcare.
I am also a member of Pacey ( professional association of childcare in early years) and hold my liability insurance with them
I am myself advanced DBS checked. My husband and my family are all advanced DBS checked as they are all over 16 .

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
Hourly rate per child £5.50
Unsocial hours before 7am charge is £8.25 an hour and after 6pm is £8.25 an hour
£2.50 a day for meals
