About Me
CIW Registered / Flying start Childminder living in the Barry area. I live with my husband Who is in the Royal and our 3 children
We also have 1 small dog . I have some spaces available for immediate start. I look after children in a loving, safe, fun environment where they can play, learn following their own interests and learning styles .
I was inspected Jan 2020 and was awarded Excellent in all areas. In May 2019 I started The Curiosity Approach Accreditation. I have moved away from traditional plastic toys and I use recycled resources as much as possible for children to use their imaginations . My setting is very much child led. Children of all ages have access to a range of authentic resources and loose parts that is spread throughout the environment. I have a dedicated outdoor and secure private back garden for the children to play. Children can access the outdoors whenever they want as I have a free flow open plan space. We are also out and about a lot enjoying nature.
I attend local flying start toddler groups and singing at the library. I also love taking the children out and about ( in all weathers) on fun days out to visit local parks, forests and other local attractions.
My Experience
Before childminding i was in the Royal Navy for nearly eleven years. I have done
3years as working as a professional OFSTED registered childminder in England and moved to Barry feb 15.
various volunteer work in pre schools located in Portsmouth with references to show.

My Qualifications
Home based childcare and level 3 & 5 qualified. I am advanced first aid trained and safeguarding trained. I am currently in the process of doing the curiosity approach accreditation.
I am also intermediate food hygiene trained. I attend various courses during the year to develop my knowledge and keep up to date on my professional skills.
I have a keen interest in forest school activities and like being out exploring.

I drop off pick up from cadoxton nursery and will consider other nurseries too

Karean is a great childminder, she takes them out to places all the time and keeps the children interested in everything they do. I unfortunatly only had the pleasure of sending my 2 year old daughter to her for a few months due to us moving to a different town but if anything could of been done i would have stayed with Karean because my daughter absolutely loves going to her everyday.
I would totally recommend Karean to everyone.
