About Us
We are a teacher-led, term time preschool caring for children aged 2-5 years. We are open five days a week from 7.45am to 4.00pm and offer a variety of options, including breakfast club, lunch club and various pick up times.
We are based in a scout hut on the edge of a park, opposite the woods. Whilst we are working on making the exterior look more appealing, it is like an Aladins cave on the inside! We also has a large garden which we utilise to the max, with mud kitchens, wobbly bridges, a hidden house and lots more. We are run and staffed by qualified early years teachers and level 3 staff.
We believe in quality early years experiences that are fun and educational and are advocates of continuous provision that runs inside and out. We want the children to leave Totterdown Preschool sociable and happy, with a curiosity of their world, a high self-esteem, a sense of community and a 'can do' attitude. Thus ensuring that they are independent learners who are 'school ready'.
We acquired the setting in April 2019 so as yet have not received an Ofsted rating , however another of our settings was rated OUTSTANDING in October 2018. We have lots of plans including the introduction of forest school, so come along and see for yourself what we can offer. We are always ready for a chat!

Our Fees
- Childcare from £16.50 per morning
Totterdown Preschool welcomes Early Years Entitlement Funding vouchers, FEET and FEE funded children, including universal (15 hours) and extended hours (30 hours); government tax free vouchers and company childcare vouchers. Funded hours are between 8.15 and 2.15 and can be used to include lunch club. Any sessions that are above and beyond the entitlement is chargeable. I have 3 kids and we have moved a lot, so this is our 6th nursery and I have seen good and bad. This one is excellent! What I love most is the enthusiasm and dedication of Claire and Shamira. No bored staff here! The children spend their time in a wonderful environment, and the art creations and baking that come home are fantastic! Our little boy absolutely loves it and heads in every day without a backward glance. I am so glad this is where he will now be until he starts school, for which I know he will be very well-prepared.
