About Me
I am Sophie Waddington owner of Wonderland Childminding situated in Furnace Green, Crawley.
I was rated OUTSTANDING in my most recent Ofsted report (a grade I had received previously)
I live in a clean, tidy, smoke free home with a large garden and playroom.
My aim is to offer a home from home environment which carefully balances the children’s needs for outdoor activities, social groups and outings with the ability to have some quiet time, creative or sensory play.
I have a large family car but prefer to encourage the children to walk to school and our local activities wherever possible.
I have 2 children both over 12yrs old and with my husband we share our home with our 2 dogs (miniature cockapoos) and our tabby cat.
My Experience
I have been working with children for over 25 years in various roles from nursery nurse, play scheme leader, preschool teacher, nanny, TA as well as childminder.
I’ve been a registered childminder for almost 15 years now.
My Qualifications
I am NNEB qualified (level 4 equivalent) and I have been working as a childminder for almost 15 years with a total of 25 years working in childcare.
I have the required DBS checks, paediatric first aid, safeguarding training as well as several other desirable courses that I’ve attended.
My Availability
I CURRENTLY HAVE NO VACANCIES FROM SEPT 2023 Sorry for any inconvenience this causes, my waitlist is also full presently.
I am registered to provide care for 3 early years children.
I don’t currently offer school wraparound care.
I can provide full days during school holidays.

I cannot tell you how happy we have been whilst using Wonderland childminding. Sophie is fantastic, she has an incredibly calm presence with the children. They are well cared for and have lots of fun with lots of outdoor and indoor activities.
Our little girl has been going for 2 and a half years and I can genuinely tell you I've dropped her off and headed to work with absolutely no worries as to her care, more than I can say for the previous setting.
Sophie is incredibly patient with firm boundaries that all the children respect. I have even spent time as a play date when on school holidays because my little girl misses it so much!
We are only leaving as moving on to school, I would be keeping her otherwise!
Every family needs a Sophie in it, I'm truly going to miss her support.
