About Me
As a Mum to a 4 year old girl, with a background in childcare, I’m always exploring avenues to create new and engaging learning experiences. Although I love to promote development through play and learning, my main priority is to ensure that the children in my care are safe and happy.
I love winter mornings and walks in the crisp air. On weekends you may find me baking or starting a creative and crafty project. I’m as good a listener as I am a talker and communication is a strong point of mine.
My Experience
Up until the summer of 2021, I worked in a small private nursery as an Early years practitioner, caring for children aged 2-4years old. This role was for 6 months. Prior to this, I nannied for a lovely family with two children for over a year. I have worked alongside children for around 10 years, with my first role being a children’s party host and retail assistant in a children’s store, whilst studying for my A-Levels. I then went on to achieve my Level 3 early years qualification and gained experience working in schools and nurseries with children from 6 months old to 8 years. Between this I have done lots of babysitting, worked at an outdoor summer holiday camp and also done a school pick up role when my daughter was a baby, to which she came along.

Lauren looked after our son (6) and daughter (4) for a year as her first role out of college. She had sole charge of the children with her duties including collecting them from school; walking them home; cooking for them; entertaining them and carrying out the bath/bed time routine. From the moment she arrived she fitted in and became part of our team, making us immediately completely confident that the children were safe and happy in her care. She is responsible, reliable, friendly and incredibly easy to have around, as well as conscientious when it came to any extra duties: keeping the childrens' rooms clean and tidy, and generally keeping the house in order. She also looked after various other children for playdates and their parents often mentioned how good she was with the children. She is also brilliant at arts & crafts which impressed the children (and us!). I am very happy to give any references should you wish to ask Lauren for my contact details.
