Hello, my name is Debbie :) I am an Ofsted Registered childminder in North Camp,farnborough. I would describe myself as a fun loving, conscientious, trustworthy with a chatty & bubbly personality.
I live with my husband Gerry who has been CRB checked, sadly I don't have any children of my own I am step-mum to 3 children, but they have moved on. We live in a smoke free, happy, relaxed & welcoming home, very close to North Camp Station, with 5 minutes from Farnborough main station.

My Belief's & methods
I believe that respect for others is important & I endeavour to teach children in my care good manners such as: "please & thank you" table manners & general good behaviour. I always deal with the matter of discipline firmly, but fairly, we talk about the incident, how it affects themselves & others. We say our sorrys & always finish with a cuddle! If I had any issues I would always talk with the parents.
I have a natural empathy with children & I enjoy helping them to develop & of course to have fun!
Meals: I do not provide meals on the premises so I do ask parents to provide named packed lunch & snacks,( no fish to be brought into my setting) thank you. Water will be offered throughout the day.
I firmly believe in varied activities such as
*Arts & crafts, *Toddler groups, *Farms, *Woody walks, *Parks & Picnics,*Play dates with friends,*Library choosing a book & story time *Activity/Soft play centres, *music * cooking *outside play or just spending time in the home, will enhance children's development expand their knowledge & confidence helping them to equip them with the necessary skills for life.
I do offer & provide a daily updates to include snippets of your child's day via WhatsApp.
On the occasions that I take the child/ren from the home environment, I am diligent to ensure their safety & well being at all times, whilst enabling them to learn & still be safe.
I am part of a Nanny/Child minder circle a friendly like-minded community of nannies & child minders with their children and we do try and meet up.
I have a great passion for what I do, having spent 30+ years experience as a Children's Private Nanny.

My Experience
Working with Children is something I have always wanted to do from an early age. I started working as a school leaver in July 1975, at The Ockenden Venture, which is a home caring for a group of Vietnamese handicapped Orphans. I worked there for over 3.5yrs,after leaving I started working as a Private Nanny sole charge daily position caring for a baby boy (James) 6 mths old & I gained a formal qualifications in 1975 in the form of a Pre-school Foundation Course.
I have continued to work for numerous families over many yrs, looking after their children, during my working life I have had breaks from childcare, working in Administration, due to Nanny positions where sparse due to the economic climate at the time.

I started Child minding in February 2014 with my first family. I'm happy with the outcome and I know my families are too. :)

From September 2024 'Spaces' available possible earlier if required.
My setting is open from 8.am till 4.00pm if these hours dont suit, please do ask and I will try and do my best to accommodate.
Term time only (I do follow Hampshire school holidays term dates)

Our two daughters love being looked after by Debbie. From the first visit to her setting, our eldest daughter immediately warmed to Debbie’s kind and caring approach, and we knew that she felt safe and confident with her at once. Debbie has created a setting that is homely and warm, our girls feel confident and secure with her, and we are always greeted at the door with happy children. They’ve also developed a good bond with her husband.
Debbie was reassuring and supportive during their settling in period, and particularly attentive of the needs of our ten-month old who needed more time to adjust. Debbie is accommodating of both of their routines. She has adapted these routines to work within her setting and has ensured that the care they receive has been consistent. She has provided our family with flexibility and support when we’ve needed it. Debbie has good communication with us as parents, and she provides us with a thorough summary of the day they’ve spent together, with plenty of photos. She provides them with a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, trips out, and games and songs, which the girls love.
We would highly recommend Debbie to anyone looking for a caring, adaptable, and generous childminder.

We were so pleased that Debbie could look after baby no.2 once her big sister went to Preschool. Our eldest had such a brilliant time in Debbie's care and now her little sister has the same! It's been lovely getting to know Debbie and her husband over the past 2/3 years and they really have become like part of the family.
We were worried about how our youngest would adjust to childcare being a lockdown baby but after just a couple of weeks she was absolutely fine and built a fantastic relationship with Debbie really quickly. We feel so lucky to have Debbie in our lives and would thoroughly recommend her.

Debbie has been so kind and caring in all that she does. My daughter felt so at home there immediately and we were always welcomed in with open arms! My daughter and I have loved our experiences with Debbie and she was the only lady who could get my daughter to day time nap!! Her husband is also a wonderful man who went above and beyond to make my son smile when we picked up his sister. We have had a truly remarkable time with Debbie

Our little girl (almost 3yrs) loves Debbie and has a wonderful time in her care. She’s excited to go every day and we get a detailed rundown of the fun they’ve had so we can see why! They go for picnics, visits to museums, farms, parks and playgrounds and in Debbies house enjoy crafts and lots of toys and books. Debbie is a warm, trustworthy and helpful person and we’re very happy to thoroughly recommend her to other parents.

We are so pleased we found wonderful Debbie - from the moment we met her we just knew she would provide the perfect care for our little girl. It's so special to see the relationship that she has fostered with our daughter from day one; Pearl always arrives with her arms stretched out for cuddles and we have to tear her away at the end of the day too! It has made it so much easier to be at work knowing that she is being cared for so well. They always have busy days and we love seeing the photos of Pearl at toddler groups, parks and playing with other children. Debbie makes lots of time for indoor fun and craft too which we always get to take home. The daily journal is great and always really detailed information about Pearl's day. We couldn't ask for more and thoroughly recommend Debbie!
