I am a Christian and was a neonatal (newborn) and children's nurse for 40 years. I have also looked after children in hospital, and at home (both well and unwell), over a number of years. However, I have had no formal 'Nanny' training and am not trained in child development (though I have a general idea). I prefer to work in collaboration with parents who know their children best, and provide whatever suggestions I can based on prior experience (if asked). I was last DBS checked in January, and sadly omitted to renew my subscription to the update service in April, but have a screenshot copy of the page taken around mid-March (2022).
My Experience
I have looked after sick children for many years (hospital based) and also a young boy at home giving palliative care. I have worked as a maternity nurse for a number of families, (in my younger years), immediately after leaving midwifery, and continued on as a nanny with one family for 9 months. I have worked with newborns, sick babies and children, since 1987. I love my work, am very fit, active, and in good health (the photo was taken about 5 years ago). I decided to take full retirement from nursing in August 2018, I have been kept quite busy offering childcare, both ad hoc and on set days, over the few years, and I have enjoyed working in a different type of environment.
Since August 2018 (when I formally left nursing) I have looked after several babies, toddlers, and provided after-school care for a 10yr.
I am moving north, and am happy to provide ad hoc babysitting as and when available. I work as a freelance photographer these days, but feel providing some childcare would be a nice way to settle into the community.

My Qualifications
RN, RM, Neonatal Nurse, BSc (Hons). I keep updated as regards safe guarding, first aid and have completed a child development short course. I am not sure what else to say here, though the site is asking for it.
I am now retired from nursing, though am on the Covid register when the government will close this part of the register. DBS check was last carried out in 2022, and a certificate issued in January is available on this site. I undertake First Aid and other childcare course training annually.

Ad hoc babysitting £10.00/hr (I no longer provide longer hours as a nanny, but the site is asking for a pay rate). Happy to negotiate.

We have just used Bridget to babysit our 8 month old. This was the first time we have been out without a member of the family looking after our little one, so were apprehensive. From the moment we contacted Bridget she put our minds at ease. She was able to give a reference for us to contact and was reassuring. She has kind hearted and friendly personality, we felt confident he was in safe hands. Highly recommend
