About Me
Hi! I’m Olivia, I’m 28 years old and I live in Musselburgh, Edinburgh. Im currently studying a MSc in Speech and Language Therapy at the University and was previously an early years teacher in Clapham, London for 3 years. I am looking for nannying, babysitting or other childcare opportunities to fit in around my studies. Currently I have availability in the afternoon/ evening on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and can be available all day/ evening Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I am also open to overnight babysitting/ nannying (see ‘my availability section below).
I absolutely love children and have always been passionate about working with and being around them. As a result I have a wealth of experience in a range of childcare settings including primary schools, nurseries and children’s clubs in the UK and abroad, alongside lots of experience nannying and babysitting in the home setting. I am a fun, smiley, kind, caring and patient individual who is truly passionate about and dedicated to childcare. I have a lot of energy and imagination, and my preschool teaching experience has provided me a deep understanding of the early years and Montessori education, children’s needs, how to incorporate learning into play, the importance of routine and the huge role genuine affection and support plays in a happy child; all of which will be a driving force within my care.
I have all of the relevant training and certificates for early years childcare including a Level 6 Childcare Qualification, a current DBS certificate and training in paediatric first aid, Covid safety, safeguarding, British values and prevent duty, food hygiene, infection and illness control and child protection. I am also more than happy to take on any additional responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning, and can do so to a high standard as I have professional experience in early years food preparation, Covid cleaning and housekeeping. Moreover, I have my own car so can be available at short notice, and am willing to be flexible with hours besides those I spend at the University.
My Experience
I have three years of early years teaching experience, two years of nursery experience, a Level 6 childcare qualification, a first class Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in childhood youth and community studies and a Masters of Science (MSc), in which I achieved a Distinction. I also hold a current DBS alongside certificates in paediatric first aid, manual handling, epi-pen training, Covid safety, safeguarding, British values and prevent duty, food hygiene, infection and illness control and child protection. I have also worked in primary schools with years R, 1 and 2 and have completed the Primary Education maths and English skills tests which are required in order to train as a primary school teacher. Moreover, I have volunteered with the Brownies and participated in a voluntary expedition to Tanzania, during which time I worked in a Tanzanian primary school and helped with childcare in a local orphanage.
My Qualifications
I have a first class degree in childhood youth and community studies which is equivalent to a level 6 childcare qualification. I also recently achieved a Distinction in my MSc and hold the Maths and English Skills Test certificates required to teach within a primary school. As mentioned previously, I also have certificates in manual handling, paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Covid safety, safeguarding, British values and prevent duty, infection and illness control and child protection.
My Availability

My Fees
