Hi, my name is Petra, I studied and graduated in 2020 with a 2:1 in BA Hons degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing and currently work part time as a bridal Makeup Artist all over North Cornwall.
I enjoy creating, experimenting with materials and I like to go for walks on the local beaches and have a bit of an adventure, this is something I'm a big advocate of. I think children should always have the option to run and explore and let their imaginations go crazy! I am a huge book nerd, and loved reading growing up- I would lug massive books in my handbag as a teen no matter where we were! And I feel like it's such a unique escapism so I like to share that with the kids and a couple books before bed is a great way to send them off to sleep dreaming of castles, giants, faeries and shipwrecks!
My Experience
I've been babysitting for a couple of years but started regular sessions with local familes around 6 years ago, and then started doing daytime sessions such as school pick ups and extracurricular activities. I have since graduated and moved to babysitting for hotel guests and families down on holiday from all across the world.
I have also worked with disabled children and been lucky enough to work with a lovely family who trained me on the job for caring for their little boy who had cerebral palsy. I loved very minute of working alongside the parents and helping give them a peace of mind as well as the independence to enjoy their holiday. Not to mention being able to see how much joy he got from being on the beach was so uplifting. I love being able to provide the chance for parents to get their time away, and for me getting to know each child is always a delight.
I've worked as a children's leader for a summer camp, as well as helped with the creative aspect of the local youth theatre, I have also been involved in a creative course with a local primary school while I did my first year of university. At the moment I am looking for work alongside my day job in the wedding industry. I'm honest, discreet, trustworthy, and always looking to learn. I have a good amount of experience with working with autistic children and I am always happy to meet the family before spending time with the kids. I know it's a personal thing, now more at ever to let someone into your home/space and I respect that, I have also had my COVID vaccine.

DBS Check can be made/applied for, as well as first aid certification if needed

My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
When booking, I kindly insist on 3 hours minimum as this covers my fuel and my planning for the session.
Please ensure any extra children than the original family booking are passed on in writing, as there will be an additional £5 each per hour. Thank you!

Petra was such a find! She was so wonderful with my three boys (6 year old twins and an 8 year old). She is super calm and fun loving. They immediately warmed up to her. We felt so lucky to find her and will use her again.

Petra fitted into our family so well. She just got stuck in was willing to learn and made our children and especially our disabled son with cerebral palsy feel loved and accepted.
Definately deserves 5 stars. Looking forward to see her again when we are on holiday when lockdown ends.

Petra is amazing. My children didn’t give me a backward glance when Petra was in the room. They adored her as much as I did! She is a natural with children, they love her. She is extremely professional. Nothing phases her and she has a wonderful calmness about her. I would recommend her 100 percent. She is fantastic.
