About Me

Fully booked for nannying but I am available babysitting -

Hello, I'm Amy. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.

I am a highly skilled and experienced childcare professional with a profound knowledge of childcare practices. My expertise lies in ensuring the safety and well-being of children while offering them nurturing care and guidance. I possess extensive experience in working with children from the newborn stage up to the age of 5, employing a comprehensive understanding of their developmental needs.

As of August 2023, I am seeking a new opportunity and am available for a full-time role, dedicating 50+ hours per week to my working role.

My genuine passion for childcare stems from my desire to help children thrive and grow. I excel in effective communication, adaptability, and collaboration with parents to create a harmonious caregiving environment tailored to each child's unique requirements.

Recognizing the significance of providing a stimulating and engaging environment, I take pleasure in planning and organizing various activities that promote learning and exploration. From visits to farms, the zoo, and soft play areas to music classes, I strive to create enjoyable experiences for children. Additionally, I design enriching activities at home, including water play, messy play, number games, and free play, fostering their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

With a background in nursery education and a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), I ensure that children receive the necessary foundation for their educational journey.

I am adept at adapting my caregiving approach according to parental preferences. In the past, I have successfully implemented routines, facilitated sleep training, and provided support during overnight stays, proxy parenting, and weekend care as required. Moreover, I have experience working with twins, fulfilling proxy parenting responsibilities, providing mother's help, and handling sole charge positions. I have also served high-profile clients with discretion and professionalism, as per all roles I am in.

In terms of qualifications, I possess all the necessary certifications, including a valid DBS check, First Aid training, and other relevant credentials in the childcare sector. Additionally, I hold a full, clean driver's license, have access to my own car, and ensure the provision of appropriate car seats for transportation.

If you believe that my background and experience align with the needs of your family, I would be delighted to engage in a conversation. Please feel free to reach out, and I will gladly share my comprehensive CV with you.

Furthermore, for the right family, I am open to considering live-in roles.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to (hopefully!) Hearing back from you so I can share my CV

We employed Amy to look after our 5.5mnth old daughter when I returned to work earlier than expected, and I can't praise her enough, she's an absolute godsend and we are sad to be letting her go. We are moving back to Australia. If we could take her, we would be!

Our daughter is our first child, and we had no idea what to expect from a nanny. When we first met Amy she showed an enviable passion for her profession and a wealth of experience. Amy took the time to walk us through her approach to childcare. It was so helpful to have her guide us through the process and map out expectations. We worked from home during this time due to Covid, and having parents in the house can be a challenge for a Nanny, however, Amy was adaptable, flexible and let me sneak in as many cuddles as I could.

Amy helped walk us through routines, helping sort her sleep, and helping her transition from exclusive breastfeeding to combination feeding (which was challenging as Leila was a bottle refuser before Amy). Whenever she could see something that could be improved, she took the time to explain the issue, and used her strong experience to explain what she thought could fix it, and agreed on a plan.

Amy is proactive with activities, has a lovely network of nanny friends and is great at organising fun and engaging things for our baby. Leila has thrived in her care. Amy is great at planning, and communicates and always checks in, to ensure activities are in line with what we were ok with and would articulate what she felt would help Leila's development.

Amy is a very engaging Nanny, and she puts her whole self into her work. An absolute pleasure to have in the home, and any parent and child would be lucky to have her as a Nanny.

Amy has recently helped us with providing ad hoc care during days and occasional evening babysitting for our 2 children aged 1 and nearly 5 years old. Amy has been brilliant with our 2 children creating fun activities, making up fun games for our 5 year olds big imagination and taking them out and about to softplays/farms and to playdates. Amy has been really helpful around the house tidying up after the children putting the occasional load of washing on and filling up the dishwasher (none of this was asked to be done) but it was highly appreciated. When babysitting Amy bathed the boys and washed the boys hair (which is normally a big struggle). Amy has helped us get the boys into a good bedtime routine and suggested different techniques for us to try and so far they seemed to of worked! Amy has been very loving towards both our children happily giving them a cuddle which is great to see but also being firm when needed, both the boys are happy to be handed over to Amy when she arrives and always run to give her a cuddle. Amy has made both me and my partner feel very at ease leaving our children in her care - Amy sends us pictures and leaves us a daily diary when she's here so we can see what the boys have eaten and done during the day. Amy is very mature for her age as we have previously had other ad hoc care which just wasn't up to par. I can highly recommend Amy to any prospective employers, any family really would be lucky to have her!

I employed Amy Spender over a two month period from mid November 2018through to the end of January 2019 to support me in the immediate
period after the birth of our second daughter.

We interviewed a number of candidates and were impressed by Amy who exhibited good organisational skills and a real passion and enthusiasm for the job. Right from the first interview she showed interest in our older daughter and she quickly built a good rapport with her. This was really important to us as we knew our daughter would find the transition from being the sole centre of attention to having to suddenly adapt to having a sister taking her mum's attention difficult.

Over the two months she provided valuable support to my husband and I, helping to look after the new-born and our two and a half year old
daughter. Amy was punctual, well organised, always keen to help and
asking if there was more she could do.

Amy has been a trusted and valued member of the family, driving our
oldest to and from nursery every day. She also took her on a number of
excursions and activities over the Christmas period, and was thoughtful in recommending various paints, play dough etc. She bought Christmas presents for the children, and thoughtfully gave us pottery
with our childrens' hand and foot prints - a lovely and very thoughtful gift which we really appreciated. Critically she bonded well with oldest daughter who liked being with her.

Amy is incredibly flexible and accommodating; at thirty minutes
notice, and prior to us having a contract in place, she was able to
pick up our daughter from nursery, feed her dinner, bath and put her
to bed and give up her evening to babysit. Without this my husband
would have not have been able to attend the birth of our second
daughter which was a week earlier than anticipated. For that and the
rest of Amy's efforts we will always be grateful.

I wish Amy every success in her future career and would have no
hesitation in recommending her.
