About Me
I believe that children need a lot of love and attention in the early years as this helps them form secure attachments which are so important. Learning through play is equally important and a priority in my practice as it is the best way for children's brains to develop. I strive to help develop children's understanding of themselves, others and how the world around them works. Through calm and compassionate care i seek to provide empathetic means to each child's individual needs and using patience and my experience help them to grow and nurture their learning.
I love being outdoors and strongly believe that children should have the opportunity to enjoy nature and get muddy and dirty. I also love to cook and bake and have worked in hospitality/cafes for over 10 years. I understand the need for a healthy diet and believe in introducing children to new foods and cooking experiences at a young age. I can use my knowledge to cater for specific dietary requirements if needed.
Through all this i hope to help children become responsible, resilient individuals who care for themselves, others around them and the planet.
My Experience
In 2019 i graduated as an early years practitioner and accepted a job in a nursery where i worked full time for 7 months, learning and sharing my skills, until due to Covid 19 the nursery shut down and i was made redundant. After not being able to work for many months but still being passionate about caring for children i reassessed the path i wanted to take in order to share my learning and knowledge in the best way possible. In September 2020 I worked 2 separate nanny jobs, both children aged around 12 months.
In November 2020 I started working for a family full time looking after a child who was about 2 and a half when I started and turned 3 before i left which was due to a decrease in one of the parents working hours. In July 2021 i started working for a family with a 6 year old autistic child who had limited vocabulary and due to family circumstances attended school for only one hour a day. This meant i spent a lot of time expanding her play as well as her use of language, reading and writing skills. I helped her learn basic skills of looking after herself and putting things away around the house such as her clothes and rubbish. I also cooked dinner for her and helped to expand her diet a bit by cooking new foods.

I have my HNC and NC early education certificates.

My baby boy was really happy when Karma came to babysit. He was delighted when she arrived & had a lovely time playing & hearing stories.
Karma was professional, competent, and had great experience. She fitted in with the flexible arrangements our family needed. I recommend her as a nanny or babysitter for other babies & young children.
