About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder with a good rating (July 2022) and a qualified early years teacher. I have 8 years experience teaching nursery and key stage one children and a further 7 years experience working as an early years practitioner with children under 5.
I started Angela's Mini Explorers 3 years ago to achieve a better work life balance with my husband and 2 children (6 and 8 years old).
I provide a safe, positive and nurturing home environment for 2-4 year olds.
I believe children learn best through play, first-hand experiences and through real life contexts. I provide a well planned learning environment, quality resources and challenging experiences to support children’s exploration, learning and development.
I have a good size garden with climbing equipment, large loose parts resources, a nature kitchen, a large sand pit and free access to water and paint.
I value the importance of nature and outdoor experiences. We regularly go to Westonbirt Arboretum, local beaches and a number of local parks. The children enjoy the freedom to explore and benefit from the educational opportunities the outdoor environments bring.

I will be working 2 days a week from Sept 2024.
If you are using the government funding the place can be taken up alongside another setting and the hours shared. This might be a good option if you want your child to have 2 days a week experiencing more of an outdoor education.
From Sept 2024 I will have 2 places available for 2 days a week.
15 and 30 hours funding available for 3 and 4 year olds, and possibly 15 hours funding for 2 year olds.
My Experience
As a teacher I took on all roles and responsibilities in order to safeguard and best meet the needs of children and their families from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
Having worked with the youngest of children throughout my career, being spontaneous and following learning across different situations is second nature to me.
I taught high quality sessions using a range of approaches such as story telling, music, ICT and practical exploration.

Angela looked after my daughter two days a week while she was a preschooler and honestly the care and provision Angela provided were second to none. My daughter had big social communication delays (despite attending nursery) before attending Angela's setting and the change in her in that year was unbelievable. Angela provided fantastic daily communication and always went above and beyond her call of duty to support my daughter (and me!) and to help her to progress. The activities and experiences Angela gave her were fantastic; I feel like they were always off adventuring somewhere new or learning a new skill (modelling, baking, crafting etc) I would wholeheartedly recommend Angela's Mini Explorers to anyone looking for personal, exciting and warm childcare for their little one.

Angela has been looking after 1 of my sons for a year (3) and my other son for 9 months (1). She provides a safe and caring environment at her house and also takes them out exploring a lot. Settling in went really well, especially as they started due Covid pandemic.
I know that when I leave my boys with her they are not only safe but also very happy. They learn lots of new things every week and are also excited to show/tell me what they did. Angela provides photos of their day so I can see just how happy they are.
My eldest son has struggled with his speech and is currently on the wait list for therapy, Angela has gone above and beyond with her support. She taught him (and me) makaton signs which really helped with his frustration and since his speech has come on leaps and bounds.
Couldn’t be happier with my decision to send both my boys to her.

Angela has a wonderful small home based childcare facility. My 2 year old son has started this year with Angela and his social, communication skills have already improved, given he has had limited social contact due to covid. My son settled in quickly and loves spending time in a nurturing atmosphere, and absolutely loves his days out and spending time with Angela's own children. Highly recommended.
