I am a 23 year old nanny living in hatfield, I have grown up and lived here my whole life. Therefore I am very familiar with the area and it’s surrounding towns. I am an adventurous person, I love the outdoors, I would much prefer to be outside on a walk than sitting in front of the TV. I have an adorable cocker spaniel called Bella.
The best way to learn is to participate! I am energetic, but professional. Patience is the key to looking after children, and each child requires a different level, depending on their needs.
I have a passion for young children coupled with strong child development skills, which contribute to a happy and fulfilling child care environment. My proven ability to efficiently assume complete responsibility for children, pets and home while parents are away, this allows me to control and plan the day appropriately.
I build trustworthy and reliable relationship with parents and relatives. Which establishes a better routine all round. Communication is key in the role to keep the child healthy and happy, and more importantly safe. As well as reassuring the parents and keeping them up to date as desired.
My Experience
Currently working as maternity cover for 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl - contracted until April 2023.
30 hours per week for two sweet little girls aged 5 and 2.
•Preparing dinner and encouraging reading when needed. Providing the girls with a calm but controlled environment to ensure a relaxed evening routine can follow - bathing and bedtime stories along with putting into bed.
Before school collection I ensure washing and ironing is done, and any uniform/clothes needed for the week is prepared. Maintain the playroom and some housekeeping. Daily walks for the 2 dogs and some ad hoc p/a duties - running errands, making appointments.
A sole charge position - for a 2 and half month old baby boy, up until he was 11 months and then attended nursery.
Along with caring for his primary needs, we would attend baby groups and soft play weekly to encourage his socialisation and independence appropriately. As well as day trips to local parks and play dates. I engaged him in daily activities which encouraged him to thrive and grow. I supported him through his ever changing sleep schedule and routine, and adapting to his needs as appropriate. Ensuring I maintained a close professional relationship with his parents, allowing excellent communication keeping them up to date throughout each day.
My duties would also include attending his hospital and doctors appointments with the parents.
I have previously been a part time nanny for a lovely family with twin girls aged 11, and a bubbly 8 year old. I supported them with homework and learning. Provided them a nutritious meal. Entertain them with board games and activities. We would make a walk to the local park a regular occurrence. Washing and ironing there clothes was my responsibility. Along with some light housework. During covid-19, I was supporting them with home learning/schooling.
In the past I have been a part time nanny for a 7 month old baby girl. I cared for her 3 full days a week, and her big brother age 3 when he was not at nursery. The days varied but we would attended many baby groups, and rhyme time which she loved. I supported her through baby led weaning, and the change of her routine, adjusting to her new sleep training patterns. I encouraged her to learn through play of new textures and sounds. I supported her to reach her milestones, rolling over and sitting up. Attending to her when she needed a cuddle and comfort.
My Qualifications
Qualified Level 2 Childcare.
It was my choice not to further education in childcare as I was more focused on experience.
