About Me
Carly, is a registered childminder located in Malpas,Newport. The business Jellybeans and Dragonflies is perfectly situated and within minutes to the M4, Cwmbran links and Pillmawr Road to Caerleon. Carly is a mother of twins, she’s extremely approachable and has a good heart. Carly has recently renovated her home and has something new and exciting to bring to her childcare setting.
Her home has areas like a play room, sleep/relax room, large foyer, bathroom, kitchen and converted shower room to a water play room. The garden area is fully inclusive and provides ramps for ease of accessibility, it’s hidden away from traffic by numerous established trees and shrubs. A wonderful scenic area of woodland and local wildlife, whilst has fantastic grounds for children to run and play, whilst areas are fully risk assessed accordingly. The garden and home needs to be viewed! Carly previously worked in retail for a large DIY merchant as a manager for over 13 years, she then gave it up to look after her twins and enjoy family life. She is now up and running and always ready to commit to supporting and developing the children in which she will care for. Carly also has an assistant who works alongside her, supporting the children’s care and development.
My Experience
As well as running a local playgroup for a number of years Carly is also a qualified Teaching Assistant. she is experienced in childcare and has worked extremely hard to develop her new exciting childminding business called Jellybeans and Dragonflies. Carly has completed all relevant courses asked for by CIW including:
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene
Level 2 Safeguarding
COVID-19 Training, Welsh Language support, SSTEW Training, Elklan Speech and Language, Hand Hygiene Training, Moving and Handling of People Awareness, Prevent Training, Prevent Referrals, Raising Developmental Concerns, Understanding and working towards the Foundation Phase in Wales, Effective Partnership working with Fathers, Schemas, Supports SLC needs Training, alongside Yoga training and Wellbeing support for children and adults. Carly enjoys developing her skills and knowledge and works very hard to achieve her goals on both a personal and business level.
We have also had a recent food hygiene rating by the EHO of a 5!
My Qualifications
Carly has numerous qualifications that she has achieved whilst setting up her business, previously she Graduated University in 2007 with a Business and Law Degree.
Years later, Carly committed herself to going back to College after she had the Twins to complete a Teaching Assistant Course and then moved forward to Complete a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare.
