About Me
•I am an OFSTED -Registered Child-minder.
•Also, as an Accredited Child-minder, I can offer families up to the 15 hours per week Free Early Years Entitlement once their child is three years old until they start school.
•I am a member of PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years) which is the professional body for childcare workers.
•I am a Network Accredited Child-minder, which means that I work closely with my Network Early Years Adviser to mentor other, newly qualified, child-minders in the area.
I do this work because I love working with children and I understand what parents and children need. I believe I am very good at my job. I am Spanish and have lived in England since 1993, and have been married for 15 years to my husband, who speaks English and Afrikaans. Our two girls are 14 and 11, and they attend local schools. Our household is therefore bilingual; I can offer a bilingual environment to children with parents of Hispanic origin, as well as encouraging English-speaking children, and the children of parents with other mother tongues, to learn a little Spanish, through songs, books and nursery rhymes.
My Experience
I have worked as a Childminder for ten years and I am passionate about my job. I consider myself to be a fun and caring person with lots of experience and commitment. In particular, I can offer a calm and well-organised environment to help busy parents juggle their lives, and perhaps mentor them in achieving work-life balance.
I take pride in what I do and I update my qualifications at regular intervals to improve continuously my Childminding practices. I always aim for the highest standards. I keep up to date on Government legislation and regulation and the latest childcare news by regular internet research.
I spend time with the children organising fun activities, while taking into account the age and stage of development of the child in order to move forward. I also take the children on outings to the local parks, library, Children’s Centre, or play-groups, while out of hours I mix regularly with other child-minders in the area.
I follow the Early Years Foundation curriculum, and would take a particular interest in your child’s physical development, communication and literacy, and emotional development.
My Qualifications
CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Child-minding Practice.
CACHE Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development.
Early Years Foundation Degree Level 4 and 5 at Kingston University.
BA hons. (Class 2.1) , which is Level 6, in Childcare and Education at Kingston University.
I have achieved Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) with the Children's Workforce Development Council at Kingston University.
Surrey County Council’s Quality Improvement Award (ongoing), a continuous professional development programme
Regular updating in the Early Years First Aid certificate from St John's Ambulance.
Regular updating in Safeguarding Children (or Child Protection).
I have also done numerous short courses on Child Behaviour, Makaton, Speech and Language, Inclusion, CAF Awareness, Messy Play, Working with Parents, Learning through Lego, Education Through Music, Working in partnership with parents, and many more.
My Availability
I am available Monday to Wednesday and from 8.00am to 6.00pm
I am happy to be flexible to accommodate parent's needs.

Soledad started looking after our son when he was one, he is now five and about to start school and has been cared for by her all this time. We are so grateful we found Soledad. She teaches the children in her care to be kind and thoughtful. Her home is so welcoming and she puts such thought into getting to know each child, helping them grow in confidence and learn. I have always felt utterly confident leaving my son in her care and could not recommend Soledad more highly.

We have been with Soledad for these past 2 years and could not have wished for a better kinder person to care of our daughter. From the first, Soledad carefully settled her in, taking note of her routine and food she liked eating. She settled really quickly and has been really happy there, making strong friendships with the other children too. She looked forward to coming to Soledad's from early on, and when she could walk, would run up to greet her with a big hug.
Soledad tailors her care and nurture to each child individually and will take the time see to their individual needs, as well as encourage something new- whether its encouraging walking to the playgroup( rather than sitting in the buggy), potty training, or getting a child to eat their greens. (Infact her food is so tasty and I'm always greeted with wonderful aromas of their supper). Its all done through lots of fun and play and Soledad has a vast knowledge of this. We've always been impressed with this.
She also encourages lot of out door activities which we really appreciated, plus visits to the library, to nice play groups, to the local garden centre when they have half term events on. But importantly the setting is a safe and nurturing environment, a wonderful home-from-home. With lots of stimulating toys, singing, story reading, fun and laughter. We will all really miss her!

Soledad isa wonderful childminder who offers advice if you need it but not if you don't! Soledad is one of daughter's most favourite people on the planet and she is missing her already since we left her to start school in September.
Soledad is loving and generous and manages behaviour positively, providing excellent meals and a range of activities to suit the interests of your child. She attends local play groups and takes the children for regular walks.
She was absolutely perfect for my daughter and we wouldn't have left if she wasn't due to start school.

Soledad is a fantastic childminder and my little girl thrived in her care. She was everything plus more that I was looking for. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a childminder - she's a credit to the childminding community!
