My Summary
About Me
My ideal job would be one where I can become part of your family and love your child/ children like you do and still collect my God daughter from Northern Parade School school Monday to Thursday and look after her in the school holidays as I have been looking after her since she was 3 months old and she is very much part of my family.
I live with my 3 grown up sons and husband and spend my days as a nanny. I am a friendly, caring and hardworking person. I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, swimming, camping and reading. I am also an Group Scout Leader which gives me opportunities to experience many different things while furthering my childcare training.
My Experience
I trained in childcare and completed my qualifications in Nursery Nursing in 1995, I then went on to work as a Nanny with 2 children (who are now grown up) and when my own children were small I worked as a childminder. Since then I have worked in a couple of Nurseries and in the past couple of years gone back to being a nanny.
Since moving to Portsmouth I have become involved in Scouting and have completed the Scouts Adult Learning, (Wood Badge) to become a cub leader which I did for 3 years and really enjoy but then the opportunity came up to look after and grow my local (PO6) Scout group which I have been doing. Through Scouting I have a current DBS (the new name for CRB) check and keep my 1st aid and safeguarding up to date.

Heidi has looked after both my children on occasional evenings for a few years now. My Son has Asperger's Syndrome & can be very difficult & hardwork, so we were anxious to leave him with anyone but Heidi takes this in her stride and has built up such a fantastic relationship with him, we can go out completely at ease. She is the children's friend whilst still having that authority and respect to take control to care for them. Both my children love having Heidi to babysit - even asking us 'When are you next going out so Heidi can look after us?' For me this is very reassuring & I feel completely at ease when going out as you can probably guess I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Heidi looked after my son from a baby to a toddler. She was very caring, knowledgeable and calm. Basically she was the perfect person to look after my son. He loved going to Heidi's and she would organise lots of fun activities and play. Couldn't have asked for a better childminder.
Heidi looks after my little boy during the day 2 days a week and has so for nearly 2 years now.
He loves going to heidis and she always has activities planned for him to do and works to a different theme each week.
She takes him to messy play at a church on one day and jiggy wrigglers on the other day so he gets to mingle with other children too.
She provides healthy snacks for him during the day aswell as lunch.
I feel oscar has benefited from going to heidis as he is more confident and is learning all sorts of different things that i sometimes dont even think of doing with him and i trust her so much with my son.
Heidi is fantastic with my daughter, she always listens to what she wants to do whether it be arts and crafts, reading books or playing with toys and will try and incorporate that into the time she spends with her.
Heidi is a very friendly and warm person who cares deeply about the children in her care whilst working or at scouts and planned activities she offers are always well thought out and tailored to the children she is caring for.
My daughter thinks the world of Heidi and loves spending time with her.
