About Me
Hello, my name is Laura and I live in Blackshots, Grays, Essex. I am married to my husband Luke and we have a beautiful son called Charlie who was born in September 2010 and a gorgeous daughter Emilia Rae who was born in April 2013. We have a pet dog who is a Cockapoo called Jessie.
I love the career I have chosen as an Ofsted registered childminder. I have the perfect job which is full of fun and smiles. I look forward to it everyday.
I have been working as an Ofsted registered childminder since November 2011 and have had the opportunity to work with lots of different amazing families and beautiful children of different ages.
We love doing all different types of indoor and outdoor activities such as story time, rhyme time, music & dance, building & creating structures using all different types of materials, water play, sand play, messy play, baking, Arts & crafts, mark making and so much more. We have so much fun outdoors and in the garden and experiment in all types of weather conditions. We regularly visit local playgroups, parks, libraries and other amenities. We celebrate different festivals & celebrations. I really enjoy seeing children learn new skills and excitedly using their achievements as they develop and grow.
I believe that working in close partnership with parents has a positive impact on children's happiness, learning and development. I am always willing to listen to parents concerns and share in their child's achievements both at home and in my setting. I keep parents regularly informed about my daily routines and childcare practices and share information about the children with parents using a daily diary or their prefered method of communication. I send weekly photographs to my parents so they are able to share their child's experiences whilst in my care.
For all children aged birth – 5 years (who are not in full time education) I cover the Early Years foundation stage (EYFS). I will create a learning journal for your child which you will have access to at any time and I will send this home regularly for you to look at.

My Experience
I have been an ofsted registered childminder since November 2011 and I have cared for children from a range of different ages between 4 months - 11 years which has provided me with knowledge and positive experiences through the different ages and stages of development, individual needs and behaviours.
I have a son and daughter of my own which provides me with continuous first hand experiences in childcare.
My Qualifications
I have completed “Cache Level 3 Understand how to set up a home based childcare service. I attend all relevant child protection training courses. I hold a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate and I am registered for Food Business for Childminders. I regularly attend childcare training courses in order to further my knowledge and I am a member of Pacey.
I am graded "OUTSTANDING" by ofsted. My Ofsted inspection report is available to view online and I can also show you a copy upon request.
I have achieved my Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young people's workforce.
My Availability
My childminding service is available Monday – Friday from 0800am until 17.30pm. Any hours required outside of these would need to be discussed.
I currently do school/nursery drop off's and pick up's at Sifford Clays school/nursery.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Hourly rate - please contact me to discuss.
Discounts offered for sibblings.
Half fee payable for up to 4 weeks annual holiday to retain the placement. For any further holiday taken or occasional days off/sickness the full fee will be payable. No charge for childminder holiday/days off.
Special days out may be charged extra.

My son started at Laura's early year setting in September this year (aged 22 months at the time) and settled in so well within no time. Laura has been amazing in providing care, respecting and accommodating individual wishes/ needs which I extremely appreciate and updating regularly during the day in our groups which is so reassuring. I must commend that Laura has gone out of her way to learn words of a new language (we speak a different language at home) so that she could interact with our son and help him feel at home. I have noticed a marked difference in my son's confidence and the way he interacts with other children of his age now. His vocabulary is also increasing day by day and if i ask him who has taught him that, he instantly says, "Laura." A huge thanks to Laura and her assistant Steph for organising different activities, local trips and for celebrating festivals. Laura encourages outdoor activities regardless of what the weather is like which is great for children.I am extremely pleased with the setting and can't wait to see my baby develop new skills.

My daughter started with Laura in Sept 2023 aged 18 months, I was worried that she would be to young and would have issues with separation from me. Laura's settling in period was amazing my daughter didn't want to leave and the vast array of activities captured her and she was just so happy.
Laura looks after each child with her fantastic assistant as well as has such great organisational skills to organise group exercises and activities outdoors and indoors.
Laura takes the children out on trips, explores with the children and celebrates festivals, birthdays occasions so beautifully and makes each child feel special. Im so glad I chose laura my daughter has settled in so so well and I will keep her with laura as I am certain that she will learn and develop amazingly all the way up to her starting reception. I can't thank Laura and her assistant enough for all the hard work they put into the setting its so impressive.

My son has been with Laura now for nearly two school years and I cannot fault the care provided. Laura cares for my son and all of the other children in the most loving way, providing a real home from home setting whilst giving the children an amazing variety of fun learning tied into many seasonal/cultural events. My son has formed lovely bonds with Laura, her assistants and the other children and is excited to see them all each week. The regular updates and photos provided show how much fun they are all having, often on local trips out to give the children so much variety. I would whole heartedly recommend Laura to any parents who are looking for childcare for their child.

I attended a setting placement visit last week and I couldn’t be happier with what I saw.
The staff were so welcoming and took the time to get to know my son.
The children were all so happy, and I witnessed such wonderful interactions with staff and other children.
I am excited for our son to join in September and feel it will be a home away from home.

Our son has been going to Laura’s now for nearly a year and he has learnt so much from Laura and the other children. Laura is always teaching the children new things and taking them out on new adventures which our son loves. He is always excited to go to Laura’s and from the pictures and summaries provided by Laura you can see why. Laura is very quick to respond if we have any queries and is very attentive to our sons needs. I would 100% recommend Laura and I ensure you that your children would love it there!
