I run a small holding with my partner where we have lived for 4 years. We have reared pigs, sheep and chickens, and I grow lots of our own produce too. We currently live in a Mongolian yurt - with our dog Dolly - whilst we build our home which begins in the spring.
Over 2 years I co-founded a small childcare facility on the edge of Dartmoor, which provides an outdoor education for preschool aged children. It has been an honour to get the business off the ground but due to my commitments at home with the small holding and soon to be house build, I have passed it on.
One thing you should know about me, is that I’m really passionate about food! I love to eat and I love to cook. Since moving to our land I have had the opportunity to grow much of our own produce which I find extremely rewarding. I take great pleasure in sharing my knowledge and food with others, especially children! I believe that sharing this area of learning in the early years can provide a brilliant footstep in the right direction as children grow up.

My Experience
Before moving back to Devon, I lived in Bristol for many years and this is where I obtained my degree In Early Childhood Studies where I gained First Class Honours. Alongside this I worked in a community children's centre nursery for several years working with children up to the age of 5.
As aforementioned, I co-founded an outdoor childcare facility. I was responsible for 15 key children and their development, ranging in ages from 2-5 years old. My job role encompassed both manager and room leader so I was responsible for much of the admin and planning for term time learning as well as daily activities. We would often take walks to the woods or trips to the rivers and take our learning outside. Immersing children in nature and offering education in an alternative way is something that feels so paramount to me and I aim to always offer this as an educator.
