About Me
I live with my husband and our 18 year old son and our 12 year old daughter. We have a dog called Milo who is very friendly but kept in a seperate part of the house during childminding hours. We have a big garden to spend lots of time in and live opposite a very large park. We get out and about a lot as we like discovering new places to visit. We visit local playgroups and other childminder settings. I encourage children to be independant from an early age and promote all aspects of the new EYFS.
My Experience
I have been childminding for 16 years and enjoy the challenges it brings. I work in accordance to the EYFS to give your child the best possible start when entering into full time education. We have lots of fun and spend plenty of time outside exploring and discovering. All parents are encouraged to come along and join in when they can. We visit song and movement groups and like to go out on many adventures which include the zoo, steam railway, bird sanctuaries to name a few!
My Qualifications
I hold all relevant qualifications to be an Ofsted registered Childminder. I hold an enhanced CRB check and First Aid certificate. I am also level 6 qualified and have a BaHons Degree in Children and Young People. I have recently completed a Diploma in Autism and ADHD. I currently have an assistant who works alongside me and we are quite a busy setting!
My Availability
I currently have a full and part time space available. I am also registered to offer eligible 2,3 and 4 year olds funded places and accept childcare vouchers and the new government incentive to pay towards childcare costs.

Shelley has cared for our daughter since she was 9 months old, she has settled really well due to Shelley's calm approach and comforting home. Thanks to Shelley she has flourished into a sociable little girl who is growing in confidence all the time.
She has come on leaps and bounds since being with Shelley and she loves going to her, she enjoys the activities she does with her and as a parent we wouldn't have anyone else to look after our daughter.
She participates in a variety of play each day and ensures that something different is done each day, as well as taking the children out on daytrips along with going to playgroups on a regular basis providing them with opportunities and experiences.
I would recommend Shelley to anyone looking for good quality childcare within a warm, friendly and homely environment.
Overall
I would just like to start by saying Shelley is a god send!
I was really struggling with finding someone to look after my son who was 5 months old at the time, as I wanted someone who would be like a mum to him with him being so young. Shelley made me feel so welcome from the day I walked into her house and Jacobs progression whilst he has been with her is amazing.
Shelley goes to the trouble of doing the 'added extras' like completing Mother's day cards and presents with the children, something I wouldn't expect with my son being so young.
She is always on hand to help out and will re-arrange her lifestyle to suit Jacobs needs and for that and the love she gives to him I will be forever grateful.
I would most definitely recommend Shelley.
