About Me
I have been childminding with an assistant for the past 21years in the bedwell area of Stevenage. We work from a 3 bed house with purpose built extension.
We can drop off and collect from
BEDWELL SCHOOL ONLY.
We provide a large variety of creative activities to stimulate young minds through play. From singing, cooking and getting messy, exploring sensory trays and the outside world,to story time, small world and construction activities. We enjoy creating new learning experiences and some we make outselves using cardboard too. We aim to provide a caring and fun environment to encourage children to become independent, confident and well socialised young people. We are very active and love playing in the woods, climbing trees and rolling down hills, puddle jumping or walking around the lakes identifying the birds/ leaves etc we can see. We have a possom play couch with all extension to build and climb on inside our extension. We have toys and activities which get rotated frequently with our changing themes which are inspired by celebrations, seasons and interests. We have tables and chairs for all ages to sit around for art/craft, baking or eating. We have a purpose built double decker playhouse built into the side room with assess for small children in the lower house and school children up top.
We have manipulative activities along a wall for the fiddlers and critical thinkers. Story cornes with cushions in a hide away cube too. We have a half paved half grass garden. Including climbing hill, bridge, tunnels, wooden playhouse with mud kitchen, sensory trays and sand table plus giant construction blocks and planks for the children to use their creativity and problem solving skills. We have balls, hoops etc to play with too. We provide rain suits and welly boots for jumping in puddles/ snow.
We provide themed topic activities, lotto games, books and puzzles, sensory trays for learning about our chosen theme which is changed roughly two weekly.
We provide breakfast, snack, lunch and cooked dinner after school. We cater for allergies and diary requirements too.

My Experience
i qualified as a nursery nurse in 2000 (NNEB). i volunteered at a disabled play scheme for children age 5yrs + for the summer holidays. I worked in a Day nursery straight from collage, running my own group for 3 years, I realised a day nursery wasn't for me. I decided to become a childminder in 2003 and haven't looked back. I gained my NVQ3 in childcare in 2014

I enjoy taking photos of the Activities/ outings and fun things we do, we will give you photo books of your child so you can share their fun experiences through their pictures.

Claire and Denis are lovely childminder. We are very happy we found them for our little daughter Natalka. Everything was great,very good relations. We are glad for yours care. High recommendet!
Overall
My 3 year old son has been going to Claire's full time for the past 2 years and he loves it there. The fun and educational activities they offer are fantastic and Joey has developed well beyond his age which I'm sure is all thanks to Claire and Denise. The home setting is more like an actual nursery, providing a vast selection of toys and materials in the fully equiped play room and large garden. The fortnightly topics organised by Claire are brilliant and my son has learnt so much. Parents also receive extensive learning journals detailing their child's development which are great and you also get lovely photo albums full of wonderful pictures showing what your child has been up to. I can't recommend them highly enough and I'm so grateful for the caring, flexible, cost effective and well organised childcare they provide ?

My daughter has been going to Claire/Denise's for 3 years now and I couldn't have been happier to send her.
They both provide a very flexible service which was a god send to me when my hours kept changing.
They put a lot of effort into the learning journals and also provide me with a photo album, I love seeing what she has been up 2.
finding a childminder can be a scary and stressful time but I defiantly made the right decision.
I'm currently on maternity leave and will be sending my second child to join Claire's at the end of the year.
I couldn't thank Claire enough for how flexible and great she has been to us :-D

My 3yr old son has been with Claire and Denise since September 2014. We have been very impressed by the care and attention that Bailey has received. He has really come out of his shell! His speech and understanding of things has also come on in leaps and bounds, and he's only been with them on a Wednesday!! I am very happy to recommend Claire and Denise as top rate childminders, and if it wasn't for Bailey starting school, he would still be seeing them on a Wednesday each week, while I go to work. Thankyou both so much x

Overall
Our son started with Clare and Denise in September last year, and I can honestly say we made the best decision.
Sam enjoys going to see Clare and Denise, and always comes home full of beans, armed with another creative masterpiece.
We have seen him develop in leaps and bounds.
Thank you to Clare and Denise for being flexible, approachable and fantastic at taking the stress out of our childcare needs.
