About Me
Welcome to Happy Explorers childcare.
Im Teresa, I have recently moved to Trottiscliffe Village in West Malling.
I am OFSTED Registered OUTSTANDING and provide an educational but mostly home from home childcare experience.
My husband Ray has just retired (early), our children have grown and now own homes of there own.
Previously to being a Childminder, I was a teaching assistant at my local primary school.
Also, we have 2 Small Bichon Frise dogs who are wonderful around children & are hypo allergenic.
I’m warm, caring and patient and really enjoy spending time teaching and playing with the children.
We love our music and dance sessions, even the smallest child will dance and jiggle to the rhythm and the beat.
We sing the abc song and the numbers song every day, i feel its a lovely way to warm ourselves up for a great fun packed day.
we learn a new topic every month which keeps the children focused and happy.
I will help your little one with developing their language and I’ll read to them every day, reading and singing with toddlers is a great way to help them to develop their language skills.
I encourage messy play as I feel this helps to develop a good knowledge base and curiosity during play.
I will take your child out and about to the library, play groups, parks and children’s centre. We will also bake together and grow fruit & veg in the garden
I have a very good knowledge of the revised EYFS and will track your child's development three times each year.
Together we will learn loads but most of all we will have lots of fun along the way.
I am also a published children’s author of 5 children’s books
My Experience
I have over 14 years experience working in schools with children ages from 3 to 11 years. I left working in school as a teaching assistant as I love working with younger children, they give me so much joy as I watch them develop and grow. I have over 13 + years childminding experience working with children from 8 months to 11 years.
During my time as a teaching assistant I learnt a great many things like; numeracy and literacy? including read write Inc phonics. I love to help the children with arts and craft activities, baking cakes and biscuits and growing fruit and vegetables. I love taking the children to the park, farm, seaside, museums and on picnics. I make good use of the resources in my local area. We love going to the library, children and family centres, local parks and woods for a forest school experience. learning should be fun and exciting. every day can be an adventure.
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered OUTSTANDING. My qualifications are as follows: first aid, higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) classroom assistant, midday supervisor, early years training, food hygeine, play leader award and a level two numeracy certificate & level 3 english. I have also passed my CACHE level three Diploma in home based childcare, and level 4 HLTA certificate. I have had my ofsted inspection and have been graded OUTSTANDING. I am a member of BCMA, PACEY and I am a published Children’s Author.
My Availability
I am available now, My hours of work are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm. I will try to be flexible for you

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.30 per hour
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
£6.50 per hour. With a minimum day of a 5 hour day @ £35

Teresa is an absolutely fantastic childminder. She became a member of our family in the year that she had my daughter. I cannot recommend Teresa enough!! Her setting was superb and she kept me up to date on everything my LO was doing including her food, sleep and nappy changes. I received regular updates on my LO's progress and some really useful tips on how to make certain situations better (sleeping). Her setting is always so welcoming as is Teresa and my LO loved visiting 3 times a week. I never had any problems with her going to Teresa even though she wouldn't go to some family members!
The activities were great and there was always arts and crafts, outdoor play and lots of learning and fun. They would go to regular baby and toddler sessions, to different parks and visits to meet up with other childminders.
My LO was always safe in Teresa's care and I never had any worries or concerns. If Teresa was still local I would still be with her now. We were all so sad to see her leave but wish her all the best in her new home.

Awwwww! Danielle what a wonderful lovely thing to say. Working with you and Tyler and caring for your beautiful, funny clever cheeky monkey has been a real pleasure, saying goodbye was really hard. Thank you ❤️
My son has been at Happy Explorers for a number of years. But it never felt like childcare as much as dropping him off with family for the day. The whole setting is very welcoming, there are regular activities and the care is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

I reached out to Teresa a day before I needed childcare. She replied to my message very quick and agreed to see me and my son within hours.
She is a lovely and caring person with years of experience, who easily understands children and their development needs.
Although at short notice, she offered to help me and took my son in. Teresa sent me regular messages and pictures of my son so that I can carry on with my workday without constantly worrying about him.
Through the pictures I received, it was clear that he enjoyed himself though different activities and play sessions.
Thank you Teresa, you are truly a lovely person, and I will recommend you to everyone, no holding back.

Teresa looked after my little boy for 3 years and he was always happy. Teresa provides excellent care for all children and treats them as if they are her own. She provide support for my little and my family during a difficult time.
My little one is school ready all thanks to support and activities provided and also lots of fun.

Teresa took care of our two children from April 2017 and September 2019, at 14 months and 9 months old respectively. We do not have family living nearby so it was important to us to find a childminder that we could trust and rely on to care for our children whilst we were at work. Teresa looked after our children like they were her own. Our eldest son who was in her care for 3 years has grown into a confident, independent child with a thirst for learning and is fully prepared for starting school in September. Teresa’s excellent knowledge of EYFS, planning and nurturing has hugely contributed to both our children’s development. Teresa has ensured our children have developed socially both in her setting with the other children she cares for and outside at the groups she takes them to. Both children have made lots of friends and always looked forward to attending Happy Explorers. Teresa is an wonderful childminder and we would thoroughly recommend her to other parents looking for childcare in the area.
