I am an Ofsted registered Childminder living in the Hartshill area of Nuneaton. I have a level 4 qualification in childcare. I work with a lovely assistant who is also passionate about providing good quality care and learning opportunities for all children in a calm, relaxed environment.
I live with my 2 daughters aged 16 and 18. I have always worked with children starting in Youth clubs then a First school as a Teaching Assistant and now in my own home as a childminder.
I have a well resourced playroom with lots of space and offer a homely environment with plenty of arts and craft activities, sand and water play games and also an area for quiet time with books, or where children can do homework. We have lots of fun. I have a large garden but also like to take the children for walks and we go to Hartshill Hayes Country Park and visit the local library. I can provide healthy snacks and/or meals on request. Allergen information provided.
Family pets are 2 cats. My pets are not allowed in in the main areas that I use for childcare. Hygiene and cleanliness is of paramount importance to me and my family.
My Experience
I have 4 of my own children and would say I have lots of experience of children from birth to the age of 18.
After having my first 2 children I became a childminder and worked at home for 3 years and then I went to work at the local First school Nathaniel Newton.
I worked at Nathaniel Newton Infant school as a Teaching Assistant so have experience of children coming into Reception and know what is expected of them. I have also worked as a Special Needs Assistant and have experience of Nurture groups(children with difficulties which are given more attention in a small group and helped with their social skills which helps improve their attention and understanding of other childrens needs when back in classroom). I worked at the school for 5 years. I continued to work at the school after I had my 3rd child so know what it is like to be a working parent-very hard. :)
When I was pregnant with my 4th child I re-trained as a childminder so I could be at home with my own little children and have been working successfully at home for 17 years. Overall I have 20 years of child care experience and 17 years of work experience with children.
My Qualifications
Level 2 Mental Wellbeing in Children and Young People
Did you know 'Half of all mental health problems present in young people by the age of 14. The adults around young people can play a huge part in supporting their mental health and stopping their needs escalating.'
This course has helped to give me an understanding of the key mental health issues that some children and young people may experience, the course has given given me the confidence to make a difference in young people's lives and equipped me with some practical skills to help me support the young people that I work with.
Level 3 qualification in Speech Language and Communication Needs in young people and children
I left school with 9 GCSE 's passes and 1 A-level.
I have a Certificate in Welfare Studies.
I have a First-Aid certificate
Child Protection
A Certificate in Early Years Practice and am working towards my Foundation Degree in Early Years

My daughter started with Julie over 12 months ago. I could not be happier with my daughters progress, Julie provides an educational loving and caring environment. My daughter loves going to Julie's and enjoys her time with the other children. Julie is very accommodating to change and has helped me a lot with showing get flexibility at all times. It's so nice to be able to go to work knowing your child is still thriving. I have no concerns on my daughters welfare whilst I'm at work as I know she is with the best childminder I could possibly ask for.
Overall
Previous today last review, our little boy stayed with Julie for 7 months before our circumstances changed and he had to move on.
Julie is a FANTASTIC childminder. Our son would wriggle with excitement even in the car pulling up to her house.
He learnt to walk during his time at Julie's which was wonderful and it was clear Julie's support he really flourished in all areas of development. Even though our boy was under 18 months Julie involved him in all activities, painting, crafts, song time etc, so lovely to receive little homemade gifts and have a happy child to pick up having had such fun!!!
Julie's professionalism and communication were second to none. We have a wonderful diary full of what our baby was up to every day. It was a great way to know what he had eaten, been up to etc. Julie would sometimes put photos of our baby in there too. A real treat to see him having such a nice time. Julie is organised and methodical, so reassuring and kind.
Julie is naturally considerate and it was very clear to my husband and I that our son was very well cared for and loved when with Julie.
We can't thank her enough for her care, we miss her hugely! I would recommend her to anyone with great confidence.

Our daughter has been with Julie since November 2013 and absolutely loves her time there. She runs to greet Julie when we drop her off and gives her a hug when we come to pick her up. It's such a great feeling to know that we are leaving our daughter somewhere that she feels so comfortable and is treated like part of the family.
Julie's dedicated playroom is fantastic, there is so much for the children to do from dressing up/roll play to crafts and educational activities. Julie has definitely helped with our daughter's development and continues to guide her through key stages.
We would highly recommend Julie's childminding services and thank her for all that she does for us and our daughter.

Overall
Our 9 month old son has been with Julie for a few weeks now and is having a lovely time. Julie has a lovely room dedicated to her childminding full of toys and lots of wonderful things to play with. He has developed since being there and smile when he sees Julie. I've struggled with going back to work but with Julie's help and reassurance its been that bit easier knowing our baby is being so well looked after. It's so great to get updates in the day and a journal entry each day.
Julie is very efficient and organised in terms of having all the right documentation and qualifications. She is a truly lovely person and it's such a relief to know our precious boy is with someone who cares for him so well.
I can highly recommend Julie for her caring and kind nature, professionalism and facilities.

I required childcare for my daughter when she changed schools, after joining Childcare.Uk we discovered Julie's profile and decided to contact her regarding a visit.
On visiting we were welcomed by Julie, who took the time to discuss my childcare requirements and relevant information about my daughter. Julie discussed all the policies and procedures and was ready and willing to answer any query I threw at her.
My daughter has quickly settled into Julie's home and also I feel this in turn as assisted her in settling into a new school. My daughter looks forward to spending time with Julie and the other children and enjoys the activities that are offered.
The environment is welcoming, with lots of toys and activities. Meals provided are well received and an enjoyed by my daughter who can be fussy at the best of times.
