Care Inspectorate registered Childminder living in South Queensferry 5-10 mins from Dalmeny Train Station. Easy access from Edinburgh and Fife. If you would like your child to have fun and interact with other children in a nature inspired childcare setting and thrive in a nurturing family environment, please contact me for further details. I have spaces (Mon to Thurs) with outdoor play and loose parts activities - plenty of fresh air in all weathers. Nature crafts and gardening, fruit and vegetable patch, pumpkins too.

My Experience
I have been fully inspected by the Care Inspectorate gaining all Grade 5's (Very Good) in my Inspection in February 2017. I have Public Liability Insurance and am a member of the Scottish Childminding Association. All documents are available to view on your visit. A childcare pack will be issued for you to take home. Full Disclosure Scotland checks have been carried out and certificates displayed in my home. My husband is registered as a Care Assistant. Now members of the PVG Scheme. GDPR approved. Covid-19 secure childcare.
My Qualifications
I am First Aid trained in Paediatric Care. Course updated 2017.
Attended Course in Child Protection in April 2015.
Experienced mother of 4 children (aged 28, 23, 19 and 15). Eldest daughter is married and has a home of her own. Youngest daughter a Teacher.
My Availability
My hours are from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday (other hours can be discussed). I take the children on picnics and fun days out in and around the local area. I have two gardens with loose parts play, den building and climbing equipment and have wooded grassed area for lots of outdoor play in all weathers. This is particularly enjoyed with the children in my care. Nature crafts and growing fruit and vegetables in my garden. Climbing trees and foraging and home cooking/baking.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
My fees are very competitive and best value for families as I am fully aware of changing financial circumstances currently ongoing on household budgets. Fees will be discussed at the first visit and a Parent Pack issued with further details of my policies, etc.

Julia childminded for our daughter from the age of 5 months old. We had never left our daughter with anyone before so it was a big step for us, however Julia made us both feel so comfortable and valued as parents. Our daughter’s face lit up everytime we dropped her off and at times she didn’t want to leave! The home from home nurturing environment made the service more cosy for our little one. Julia’s communication is excellent and we regularly received photos and updates daily! Julia followed through with the changes of our daughters routines. She cared for our daughter like she was one of her own.

Julia has been looking after our son since October 2021, and we couldn't ask for more caring and kinder childminder! She offers a plenty of settling-in sessions, an amazing and educative environment and she is excellent in keeping in touch with us during the day, including sending a regular pictures. Our son adores her and he feels very safe and comfortable in her company. As first- time parents, we were a little bit anxious, however, Julia's support and professional approach helped us to keep calm and confident - especially after we saw how happy is our son in her presence. Truly home from home experience! We can highly recommend Julia as a childminder to other parents, and we sincerely hope that she will take care of our second baby as well!

We have used Julia for childcare for our toddler since August 2021, and couldn’t be more impressed or happy. She offered plenty settling in sessions (despite Covid restrictions), and made sure that both we and our little one were comfortable.
We get regular updates and pictures throughout the day, showing all the varied activities that are on offer. We’ve found this really reassuring, and lovely to see what she’s been up to when we’re not with her. Julia is always willing to support our needs as a family, including helping our little one to create birthday cards and crafts for family members! Julia is very knowledgable about early learning, and it is clear that she offers many activities that support our little one’s learning and development, at the appropriate stage.
As first time parents, we have really appreciated Julia’s support and experience. Her reassurance has given us more confidence as parents.
Our little one absolutely loves spending time with ‘JooJoo’ and is always sad to leave. We have been delighted with the care that she receives, and couldn’t ask for more. It really is her home from home!

Julia looked after our daughter from the start of P1 until the end of P3. Right from the first meeting she left us feeling completely confident leaving our little girl in her care. We are so grateful for the excellent care she has provided. My daughter has always been safe and happy in her home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Julia to other families.

Julia started looking after my daughter around the time my daughter turned 1. Short settling in days were offered to begin with. Right from the start I felt comfortable leaving my daughter with Julia. She is very kind and takes a genuine interest in the children in her care. Julia provides regular updates and photos throughout the day which is very reassuring. A wide range of toys is always available and my daughter loves the outdoor space. I would highly recommend Julia as a childminder.
