About Me

Hi,
I am Michelle and have been working in childcare for over 8yrs. I have owned and managed my own nursery in the past and have a degree in childhood studies. I have been childminding for 8yrs since my second child was born. I have worked with children since I left school I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in a drama school for my early twenties. I then went on to work with children on tv sets as a chaperone and became almost like there second parent as they spent so much time on the tv sets. I worked with children right up to 18yrs and often get asked to go back. I also chaperone children in my spare time on local theatre productions this is mostly because my own children do a lot of performing arts shows.
I have two children my daughter is 9 and my son is 12.
I work with the EYFS framework Development matters and have been graded GOOD in all my ofsted inspections to-date.
Some of the things your child will experience in my setting, I follow the curiously approach to learning so my resources are all natural and wooden toys. I believe in children using their imagination and being as adventurous as possible I like to see the awe and wonder in children as they grow and learn.

We will visit the local park, go to soft plays and Toddlers groups we visit the libraries, museum’s and beaches too.
We enjoy baking and sensory activities we celebrate special events. We like to get messy with paints and messy play.
During school holidays we go further afield to explore museums and other fun places.

I had recently taken a year off from childminding while running a nursery because I became very full after covid and had to expand to keep up with the demand.
Sadly I made the choice to close the nursery in December 22 when the school next to my nursery opened a full time nursery of their own.

However I am now back up and running as a childminder and have spaces available Monday to Friday on full or term time contracts.

Children under 5 follow the EYFS framework whilst in my setting and this is recorded using babysdays software, enabling parents easy access to their child's everyday activities, learning, photos and invoicing as well as the settings policies and procedures.
