Hi, my name is Mel :) I'm 26 years old, and currently working as a 'school teaching assistant' and as an 'after school nanny'. I have childcare qualifications, valuable experience, and a huge passion for working with babies and young children!
My Experience
I completed my Level 2 in Childcare at Sixth Form, along with 8 months work experience in a nursery in Bexleyheath, from September 2012 to May 2013.
I then completed my Level 3 in Childcare as an apprentice in a nursery in Sidcup, from September 2013, and continued working there as a Level 3 Childcare Practitioner until October 2015.
Then I decided that I wanted to become a 'nanny'. So from October 2015 I became a 'full time nanny' to a one year old girl, and in January 2017 I joined with another family as a 'nanny share' to a four year old girl. Unfortunately, in September 2018, one of the families moved abroad, but I was lucky enough to find another family with a one year old boy, and three year old girl, to continue my 'nanny share' with.
Again, in April 2021, another one of my families moved away. However, throughout all these years, I am still a 'nanny' to the very first little girl I started off with. She has been with me from the very start of my 'nanny' journey, and so I decided to apply for a job in her school. I was extremely lucky to be offered the job as a 'teaching assistant' in her school, as well as still working as her 'nanny' after school.
So I'm currently working in a primary school, and as an 'after school nanny' in Orpington.
As a 'nanny', I care for the children in their own homes, plan activities, take them out to playgroups, parks, after school clubs, and arrange play dates and other outings. I prepare their meals, do bath-times, help with their learning and homework, and ensure that they are happy and safe. I have now been a 'nanny' for 7 years, and love every minute of it!
(During the covid lockdown, we didn't attend playgroups or arrange any play dates, but we kept busy with many indoor activities, home schooling, and going for walks in the park).
I also have a lot of regular babysitting experience, as well as doing school drop offs and pick ups at schools in Sidcup (Orchard Primary/Merton Court), Bromley (Breaside Prep) & Orpington (St Peter & St Paul Primary).
I have 10 years of childcare experience.

I cannot recommend her enough. She is excellent.
My kids love her since the very first day. She is very sweet, reliable, responsible, organised, fun and disciplined; she just not look after the kids, but she also provides them with great educative activities (she plans different games, messy plays (without leaving any mess after :), sensory, etc... both of my kids have progressed a lot since she is looking after them), she believes in learning through play, therefore she also takes the time to find amazing playgroups, farms, soft plays, and lots of parks to go.
I don't have any complaints, and I wouldn't leave my children with any other person.
The best decision ever!

Mel is just amazing! I first met Mel at a children's centre at a sing and sign session with my son, and at the time of meeting her with the child she was looking after I didn't realise that she was the nanny. This is nearly 4 years ago now.
Mel regularly babysits our two children and occasionally nanny's a day or two my older daughter during the school holidays. My children get so excited when they know they are getting looked after by Mel.
Her natural ability and connection with children is just amazing. She spends time planning activities and taking them out, regardless of the weather. Her creative skills with the children is amazing and we regularly display our children's artwork around the house that she has encouraged the children to create. She is a very patient and caring individual and we feel very relaxed and happy with leaving our children with Mel. When she looks after our children she regularly keeps us updated during her time with them about what they are doing, takes photos and sending us messages, which is extremely helpful and reassuring as we can always see how much fun they are having.
Mel is a fantastic nanny/babysitter and I highly recommend her.

I was let down at the very last minute by a childminder on the very day they agreed to have my son, so I needed heIp at very short notice. I contacted Mel via this website and she was happy to help me that day.
I was very nervous about leaving my 2 year old son with a stranger but when she arrived she put me at ease.
Mel is a very professional lovely, good natured, responsible young lady, my son was very happy in her care and enjoyed her company. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending her to anyone else as I was very happy with her and would use her again without hesitation.
