Hello my name is Joanna and I am registered childminder, living in Colquhoun Park - Bearsden.
I use to be a teacher and have really good experience working with children. I love kids and it's a privilege for me to work as a childminder.
I am the mother of two amazing children, 16 and 12 years , I am also happily married to my husband Andrew.
I have a really nice and safe playroom,with ensuite bathroom, specially design for children who I look after.
My service is focused on providing high-quality home based childcare service and customer satisfaction. I will do everything I can to meet your expectations.
I have current safeguarding as a mother of 2 children and have attended a vast range of training courses with the Scottish Childminder Association and many professional practitioners which have extended my childcare knowledge and my understanding of the government expectations from a professional childcare provider.
With the GIRFEC approach, I follow The Scottish Government’s Early Years Framework for each child learning development needs. I do a risk assessment in a daily basis in every room that children are using and also with all the toys. This according to the 8 indicators of wellbeing, otherwise known as the SHANARRI, implemented by the Scottish government.
I am also a huge believer of the Montessori method in my setting .
I provide healthy snacks and I also encourage children to participate by helping to prepare some of their own meals and teach them about food that we are eating, where it comes from and how to store and dispose of the waist in an environment friendly way.
My house is at a walking distance from couple of schools and nurseries. I stay next right next to gorgeous Colquhoun Park with amazing play park right on my door step. On daily basis very busy visiting our local playgroups and childminding groups regularly, where children get to meet and interact with other children and share some group activities.
I make sure children receive consistent one-to-one attention whilst enjoying interaction with others.
I discuss regularly children development and needs with their parents to see what support they do need at each step of their development.
My service is open Monday to Thursday from 8am to 6pm and Friday 8am to 5pm.
I use the SCMA contract forms for all my paperwork such as contract etc.

Joanna has been childminding for us for almost 2.5 years. Our son is heading for school in a few weeks and when we reflect upon his time with Joanna we know 100% what a good choice that was. She is great with kids and parents alike. She mixes it up with the activities and the kids bring home innovative arts and crafts corresponding to various events throughout the year. Her whole family get involved with looking after the children in some form or another, and the kids really benefit from that. Our son has brilliant vocabular, a good grasp of numbers and alphabet and has been very happy there. We are sorry in many ways that this is coming to an end, but time marches on and children grow! Because her house is so close to the park it is a very healthy outdoorsy experience come hail, rain or shine, and their dog is just adorable - and brilliant with little children. What's not to love here! Joanna is an absolute keeper.

Our daughter who is 6 now, was in Joanna's care since she was 10 months.
Her and Joanna developed amazing bond, she was cared with true love and understanding, always extremely accommodating and warm, high standard home to home environment in Jo's service.
Isla is 6 now and although she is not cared by Joanna anymore, still visits her and sometimes stays for sleepovers, my daughter is very close to her children.
I would recommend Joanna, to anyone who is looking for high quality, home to home, fulfilled with love and care environment.

Joanna has taken care of our three year old daughter. We are leaving her only because our chosen school, Glasgow Academy at Milngavie starts from 3 years. We are a doctor and civil engineer and had difficulty finding great childcare when we moved to Bearsden.
Joanna has been extraordinary. She adores children and is genuinely caring. I know if Seren gets upset for any reason she will be cared for and cuddled in our absence. Her children and husband are also fantastic with her. She has a lovely, clean home opposite a beautiful park.
We have no reservation in recommending Joanna unreservedly. We were so lucky to have found her.
