About Me
Hi im Fae and i am 38 years of age, I have been an OFSTED registered child minder since November 2009, I started my business SMALL STEPS CHILD MINDING in January 2010. I have recently achieved a grade GOOD in my latest OFSTED inspection (December 2023) I Offer a variety of hours to suit. whether it be for a couple of hours , half a day or a full day. Please feel free to contact me discuss any required arrangements.
I live in a 4 bedroomed detached house in the Braithwaite / North Dean area of keighley, about 30 minutes walking distance from Keighley town centre, but also on two bus routes. There is a good sized enclosed garden area to the rear of the property which children can have access to at all times. We use the full downstairs for childrens activities and have an upstairs bedroom with a cot for sleep times which has video baby monitors in place
I offer a drop off and mid day collection service from Our Lady of Victories Primary School, Keighley.
I like to take the children i care for out on regular outings,we have frequent trips to the library where we join in with the story times and also attend stay and play sessions at the local school. I take the children to the local park on a daily basis aswell, these types of outings are great as it gives the children chances to interact with other children and to also gain new experiences. we have also visited the Sensory room at the childrens centre.
I provide a range of experiences for the children at my house too, we are currently exploring lots of gardening and growing projects. we have lots of sensory experiences too e.g. jelly and cornflour play. There are opportunities for dressing up and also construction based play. At quiet times we have a range of relaxing music and story books to choose from.
I provide a variety of healthy and nutritional meals for the children which i prepare daily examples are Fish Pie, Spaghetti bolognaise, vegetable chilli and sweet and sour chicken.
My Experience
i have been working with children in a variety of settings for 20 years i went to craven college and acheived a BTEC National diploma in early years, i have worked with the age group 0-12 through all my years in childcare
i have previously worked in Day nurseries up to management level.
i Care for my niece, nephew and friends children on a regular basis
i understand that leaving a child can be a daunting experience for parents and as i professional i offer 2 free sessions to each new child before they start. The time scale of these visit can be decided by the parent at the first initial meeting.

All fees are inclusive of meals, drinks, snacks and local outings
i only ask parents to provide Nappies , wipes and baby milk due to the varied selection available.
