About Us

Jayne has been a registered Child minder for 21 years at her home and known as Jayne’s Nursery. Jayne has cared for and educated babies and children up to secondary school age for many families. She has built a very good reputation within the childcare sector around Chelmsford and most of the families that have used her service have come recommended.

During this 21 years Jayne has achieved a level 3 in Childcare and Education and through Open University achieved a level 4 in Early Years Childcare. She has under taken many suitable courses, workshops and researches constantly to help enhance her knowledge and understand which has helped to improve on the service she provides. Also, during the last 10 years Jayne achieved three consecutive Outstanding Awards from Ofsted (the first Childminder to do this).

It was Jayne's dream to one day take her business out of her family home and see if she could create a full day care setting. In 2015 this was achieved and very quickly the setting was up to full capacity. All the families that were at Jayne's House came over to the new setting and they loved the new nursery.
The feedback they have had from all these families was mind blowing. Jayne is very proud of the setting.

Jayne has been very careful in her selection of Practitioners. Most have achieved a level 3 and some went on to higher education achieving Degrees and Masters in Early childhood studies. Jayne also deliberately chooses a mix of ages to get a good balance of young and energetic and mature and experience within the setting.

The meals are freshly home made daily and prepared and cooked at the setting. The shopping for the children's menu is done personally to make sure everything is fresh and a variety is offered weekly. Daily servings of fresh fruit and vegetables are included in the children well balanced diets and ingredients are checked for unnecessary additives and allergens. Vegetarian meals are cooked twice a week and the rest of the week meat or fish is offered. The cooks bake pies and cakes and trays bakes because they prefer to know what is in the food they are serving to the children. All meals are displayed on a board so parents know what their children will be having that day. Allergies and preferences are catered for and monitored constantly, and alternatives are offered.

While your children are playing and learning at Jayne's Nursery, the friendly Practitioners are discretely making observation's so they can build a profile of your children's learning and development. This is something they like to achieve with the help of each child's parents, so any learning or new developments achieved at home can also be added in these profiles. These are confidential and shared with each child's parents.

It is important to Jayne that they hold 2 events a year where all the parents are invited to come along so everyone gets to know each other. This has proven to be very beneficial to lots of families. They arrange sleepovers and trips out together and they take in turns of having the children so each set of parents can have date nights.
