About Me
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and in my last report (2013) I achieved Good. I have been working with children for over 30 years. I am NNEB qualified and I originally worked as a nanny before registering as a childminder when my second child was born. I have a looked after several children from the same families over the years and I have also looked after children from 3 months of age until they are well into their teenage years.
I have lived with my husband in Horley for 26 years and know the surrounding area very well. I am well networked in the area and visit and help run toddler groups during school term time. I also take the children to local parks and larger parks in Redhill and Reigate. We keep busy during the day and I enjoy walking with the children which encourages them to be active and to appreciate the wildlife around us. In the home they have a large range of toys and equipment to play with both indoors, and out in the large enclosed garden. I enjoy baking with the children and find this is an activity children also look to participate in.
We have a cat, rabbit and guinea-pig and a webcam inside a bird box in our garden which has also proven to be a success with the children.
I have two grown up children who are both now working with children and also babysit for current and past minded children.
My Experience
I have over 30 years experience working with children: as a nanny, in a nursery, in toddler groups and as a childminder. I have in the past worked with several children with differing disabilities including, autism, fragile x syndrome, cohns syndrome and aspergers. One child I have cared for since he was two years old, is now 18 and still visits for respite care twice monthly Friday Nights to Saturday. As I give all the children the same boundaries I have never found any difficulty in caring for disabled children alongside children without disabilities, in fact the children except each other for who they are and all play and learn happily together.
I have a full clean driving licence and a car which I use when I take the children to larger parks or trips which are out of walking distance.
My Qualifications
I have NNEB Qualification which I gained in 1985 in Guildford college.
I am First aid trained.
I have my Safeguarding children Qualification.
Food Hygine Qualification .
I have British Sign Language Level 1 and I am working towards my Level two Qualification.
My Availability
For pre-school children: I currently have a full time vacancy and will have a second full time vacancy in September, I also have part time availability.
For school aged children: I have spaces for before and after school. I currently take a child to Meath Green Junior School and collect from there and also collect a child from Meath Green Infants.

Working hours: 7.30 - 6.30 Tuesday to Friday
7.30 - 5.30 Monday until July when 7.30 to 6.30
Weekend and babysitting availability on request.
