My Summary

My Experience

For the past 18 months, I have been caring for my beautiful mum. My mum is suffering with dementia. She is now living in a nursing home and is being very well cared for!
Previously to mum needing my care. I was working with a lovely family and was the nanny to their adorable, twin boys. I was with them for three years.


TEACHING ASSISTANT
For 14 years I have worked at Edmund Waller Primary School as a Teaching Assistant. I have worked in both key stages 1&2 with children of various age groups, mixed abilities, cultures and children with special educational needs.

My role as a TA requires the utmost care and attention to the needs of children. I'm experienced in working alongside of teachers / parents and I'm confident in using my own initiative. Being a TA is about helping the development of children socially, emotionally, physically, educationally and most of all lovingly.

I volunteered for redundancy from this job along with eleven other TA's. I truly loved working there but thought it would be a perfect opportunity to take up childcare again which I equally love doing.



CHILDMINDER / NANNY

My previous job was being a childminder/Nanny for 11 years.

I have cared for children from the age of 3 months to 10 years.

I have worked 1:1 and I have had up to 5 children in my care at the same time.

The duties and activities in my sevice included:

Dance & music classes

Swimming & baby gym

Playgroups & parks

Drop off & pick ups - schools/nursery

Painting & drawing

Model making & building

Games & singing

Teaching alphabet, nursery rhymes, reading, writing and numeracy

Preparation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dietary needs

Administering medicine/Epipen

Nursing illnesses

Potty training

Afternoon sleeps

I have good management skills and demonstrate this by being in a daily routine. It also gives children stability and security.

Over the years as a nanny, I have worked with some wonderful professional people (Musicians, Designers, Famous Artists, Film Director, and self-employed business people) All of which had very busy and hectic schedules. I have past experience in juggling hours to suit.
