I am an Ofsted registered Childminder living in central Brighton. I am a member of Pacey and am CRB checked. I have been working as a bank Creche and nursery assistant since November 2013 with Brighton and Hove Council. I have 2 children aged 9 and 12 a cat and small dog. I offer a loving, caring, homely environment. I have a beautiful large outdoor garden and encourage outdoor play whenever possible. I am lucky to have the level park at the end of my road. I like to keep active and regularly take children to the local parks (the Level, Queens Park, Preston Park), the beach, toddler groups, children's centres, art groups, museums, swimming pools and music groups. I provide creative, stimulating activities like drawing, messy play, cooking, and basic numeracy and literacy. I have also been caring for my 6 year old nephew since birth 3 days a week. . I believe all children learn and develop through play and interaction with others. I bring new and exciting planned activities every day. I provide healthy home cooked food and snacks. I follow the EYFS to ensure that every child is cared for and valued. I like to engage with children by asking questions, I.e., about the story I am reading to them to enable them to understand the world around them. I observe children's progress and record this so that I can pass on this information to parents. I have level 1 and level 2 in child care and child minding training plus a level 2 in paediatric first aid. I have experience working with children with special needs such as epilepsy and SEN children. I have a level 3 diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce. As I only like to have up to 3 children at a time I am able to give them one to one attention.
Apart from my own children I have been looking after my 5 year old nephew now for 5 years 3 days a week. I am also working for Brighton and Hove council as a bank Creche and Nursery Assistant in Children's Centres and nurseries. I am a voluntary breast feeding peer supporter and have been a volunteer in my children's school. I also have experience with special needs.
Level 1 working with children, NVQ 2 supporting the wider Curriculum in schools, How to set up a home based child care service, first aid training, Ofsted registered, CRB checked. Breast feeding peer supporter training with NHS trust. 6 Gcse's and an HND in Illustration, level 3 Children's and Young People's Workforce
I am available 5 days a week from 8 or 9 till 5 or 6 or 7. Although I would prefer after school sessions as other times may interfere with my other work. As I am bank work I do not have a regular working pattern, although I may be able to accommodate you and it can be discussed. I can be flexible as sometimes I don't work every day. I can pick up from St Luke's primary school, Elm grove primary school, St Barts, Fairlight, and any other schools in close proximity of my home. My children attend St Luke's primary and my nephew is at Elm Grove.
