About Me
I’m looking for ad hoc/supply/part time nannying work including babysitting or maternity nursing.
I’m an avid cook, and love to bake and teach children how to cook and eat healthily. I’m fit, healthy and active, love running, the gym and riding my horses. I love all animals - I have three dogs myself. I hope that my enthusiasm for the outdoors and activities inspires the children I look after to be the same.
The children that I currently “look after” are now 13 and 15 and still want me around! I taught them both to ride a horse, to ride a bike, to roller skate and cook. I’ve been nannying for them part time since they were 3 and 5.
In my spare time I’m an RAF Reservist Logistics Chef.
My Experience
I’ve been working with children for over 28 years. Fully qualified Early Years Educator and Playworker. Paediatric First aider and mental health first aider ( also a trainer in first aid and mental health first aid).
I have had a number of roles including an Ofsted registered childminder, an Ofsted registered nanny, have run my own playschemes and adventurous activity programmes for children aged 3-16, have co-ordinated a Local Authority Healthy Activity and Food Programme and various youth work projects. Was an Early Years Adviser for a Local Authority, am now a part-time safeguarding consultant. I’m also an qualified Incredible Years parenting adviser and have worked collaboratively with Children Centres for over 18 years now.
I have run my own rural pre-school with farm and small animals and outdoor activities. Have also managed a Local Authority 80 place nursery and worked in a supervisory role in many community run pre-schools over the years. I’ve also facilitated courses for young people who want to become babysitters.
I’ve assessed and tutored various Early Years and Playworker training courses. I can get references from all the families I’ve worked for and all the jobs I’ve had.
My Qualifications
Level 3 diploma - BTEC Early Years & Education
Level 3 diploma - transitional award in Playwork
Level 5 award - managment
Level 6 - leadership in playwork
Level 3 - Assessor and Tutor Award
Level 3 - College of Safeguarding/Child Protection trainer
