Coral has been our childminder and part of our family for two years. My daughter loved her from the first moment and I am sure she will continue asking for her for years to come. My daughter started attending Coral's setting a few weeks after we moved from Greece and could only speak a little English and was very reserved at first. Coral quickly gained her trust and helped her open up and be confident with her love and constant support.
With regards to early years learning, Coral was very organised, kept track of all key developmental areas and focused on the next steps and areas that my daughter needed to develop. She kept a file with all my daughter's 'wow' moments and updated it with pictures of activities they had been taking part in and drawings she had made herself. She also often sent pictures of the children while they were doing activities, playing, socialising, experiencing and learning new things.
Last but not least, Coral has been very supportive with us, too. Being new in the country and coming from a completely different culture, it was hard for us to adjust and keep track of every step of the early years' learning. Coral was always available for a chat regarding concerns, fears and uncertainties and always keen to go the extra mile and help with anything.
My daughter is now ready to progress to the next level and will start reception this September. She is now a confident young lady with an unquenchable thirst for learning and who won't stop talking. Although the next steps into education are exciting, we are heartbroken Coral will not be part of our everyday routine, but she will always be a cherished member of our family.
