My Summary
About Me
I have been working in the care industry for over 33years, range from people with special needs, disabilities, elderly people and children of all ages. I'm a part time (4 - 8 hours a week), fully qualified driving instructor. As my hours are flexible I am able to change my lessons according to the routine/needs of the families that I am working for.
My strengths are that I'm extremely organised and dependable and provide the children in my care as well as their families with stability during the time I am working with them.
Excellent at providing the children with their dietary needs.
I am calm, patient, creative, hardworking, reliable and able to work alone.
During my time with the children, I am happy to take them to local playgroups, farms, parks, rhyme time, monkey music, other playgroups that provide activities, soft play and outings during school holidays for the older children.
I am also happy to accompany the children to play dates and after-school activities if need be. I would also be happy to accommodate any specific dietary requirements or religious beliefs,
Also, I do speak 4 languages which include; English (main) Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and currently learning how to speak Turkish. Furthermore, I am kind and generous; I like to ensure that the children I care for are always well mannered and respectful towards others.
I also working in different parts of the world raise money for disabled children and orphans. I have recently been to india to help raise money for disabled children by doing speeches ,radio shows, tv shows and working with mps to raise awareness of how much help is needed for disabled people around the world.
My family and I run a small charity organisation try to help families that are less fortunate than ourselves around the world .
Which I do help when they have charity functions in my spare time.
My Experience
I have worked with the elderly people for around 10 years within two different care homes from 1990. My role in both was of Senior Care Assistant and this required me to support them in any way possible. In some cases I was also nursing people with special needs which enabled me to become a full time carer over time.
Whilst my children were growing up I trained as a driving instructor in my spare time. As well as training to do that I also went to college for two years; this was for me to refresh my maths and English skills which over the years has helped with the children in my care, as well as my own children.
When my children were younger I went to their primary school regularly to provide support in helping students to learn how to read and write, provide cooking classes to small groups of children and going on school trips with different classes.
In 2000, I took a position to look after two children who were aged 1 and 3 years old. Three years later, the family moved to Milton Keynes and my service were no longer required. Even so, I am still in touch and close to the family and see them whenever possible.
Still working part time as a driving instructor, in 2004 I looked after two young girls. One was 4 moths old whilst the other one was 2 years old. The girl who was 2 had mild autism, which meant that she was slow in learning and found it difficult to communicate with others. As she was autistic I made sure that we had a good bond to give her stability and for her to understand that I was there to support her. Later on, as the children grew up and went to school, the mother no longer required my help in 2009. However, I do from time to time childmind the children when my services are needed.
During the last 5 years I have worked on and off in being a part time and full time driving instructor. As well as that I still was taking care of children from the ages of 1 - 13 about once a month.
In 2014 to 2016 February.
I started looking after a little girl from the age of 1 with specialist dietary requirements and also was not immunised.
Meaning extra Care would have to be taken whilst looking after her.
Also In 2015 to 2016 January.
I was looking after the little boy from the age of two that was autistic and had special dietary requirements too.
My main job was again being a carer, however this involved me to help an amputee who is in a wheelchair. Each weekend I would stay at his house and clean his house, do the gardening and fetch his groceries. This gentleman no longer needs my services on weekend, however on some occasions I still support him.
As my children are at university now and are able to fend for themselves I have a lot more free time on my hands.
