My Summary

My Experience

I am just starting university as a student Nurse and am looking for part-time work doing baby sitting, part time nanny or touter

I have previously worked as a support worker with children and young people from the age of 4 to 18 who had a range of additional support needs including autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and various other types of learning and physical disabilities with in this role I provided individual care support to meet the needs of individuals I was working with include nothing personal care, administration of medicine, planning activities The aim of the project was to involve children and young people in a daily play & leisure programme. The aim of the programme is to provide a stimulating, safe and fun environment for the young people out with the school times.

I have also worked at a summer camp in the USA for underprivileged children both with and without additional support needs in this role I provided 24-hour care and support to a group of young people many of whom had behavioural support needs

I have training in child protection and safeguarding, autism, learning disability, administration of medication, challenging behaviour, sensory awareness.

I have also had two voluntary roles my first role was as a young person’s befriender this is a role I have been doing for the past three years in this role I work one to one or one to two on a weekly basis with young people who have been referred to the project by either local social work department or a similar agencies taking them to activates such as swimming, ice-skating ,cinema or on group activates organized by the projects staff such as photography or radio workshop or trips to the blowing these outing provide a safe ,stable and reliable environment for the young people we work with often something they cannot find at home for a voracity of reasons.

My second role was group befrender working with young people with a range of additional support needs I this role I volunteer once a week at a group for young people with support needs this is a role which is both challenging and rewarding in equal proportions I this role I work with a group of 10 young people between the age of 9 and 16 who have varying degrees of support needs at a weekly club ware I help them to take part in a wide verity of activates ranging from sports , arts and crafts to move nights as well as on trips out to the bowling and pantomime the young people are refried to the group be a variety of local agencies and take part in a 12 week program. The aim of this project is to help build the young person interpersonal skills both with the adult befreners and their peers within the group I had these rolls from 2010 to 2016.
